so many of the DJs in his position have ghost producers. Fred can produce to a really high level, write songs and play piano, what more do they want to make him an 'actual' musician lol

idk he's been putting out music for over 5 years growing his audience a bit more every year

obviously he's signed to a major there'll be a large investment right now, but as major label artists go that's more organic and gradual than artists who gets access to the biggest budgets for their debut single

exactly. i’ve replied to a few people itt but none of them have been users that just said they straight up dont like his music for whatever reason, which would be fair enough. its all been stuff like ‘X artist deserves this attention more’, ‘he’s not a real musician’, ‘his hype is fake’ or something similar.

I don't think people realise how long he's been at it. All hype is manufactured to some extent that's the point of the music industry lol, but his growth has been way more long-term than artists people call plants, he's no overnight viral story

In terms of other artists deserving the attention more, who do people mean? In terms of mainstream pop UK electronic/dance stuff I'd much rather see Fred get this attention than a lot of people. It seems like at the moment he could be the UK's next Disclosure/Jamie XX or something like that. There are some UK dance artists who could have a pop moment that would be interesting to see like Nia Archives but has she really made a song as good as his very best? Probably not

Elkka is great, but she only releases like one mainstream-sounding song every 2 years lol. Would be fun to see Joy Anonymous blow up more, his songs are so positive. I love the Happy Music house single Tom Misch put out but he's not focused enough on dance to have a moment like Fred. So I'm not really seeing a poppy dance artist who deserves it more in the UK right now.
