fred being more traditional edm is the point man. There's some inspiration from burial in the choice of vocal samples but these artists are better because they are different

fill me in if there’s any other possibility because, I listened to some of his music a bit earlier and it’s nothing to write home about. niggas acting like Safe in the hands of Love didn’t come out 4 years ago. But apparently THIS is what saved electronic music, and is what music as a whole needed… interesting. 
no one is saying hes the next aphex twin lmao. aphex makes experimental music, fred makes garage and house with pop elements. its not that deep

rviim not saying i buy into the hype like some others itt but i think its clear a big part of the hype is from his dj sets and not just his production
although yes he is just playing a lot of his stuff in his dj set but i think the stage personality + built up attitudes of people desperate to dance after covid is contributing to the hype

he's good at collabs (Jayda G, Headie One) but rly don't like his solo work

Jaar/AAL live (Free 2 Move at Rewire) still the best EDM show I've ever been to, he later reworked/refined it into his NTS mix which lk is his best work to me tbh
