calling the weeknd a rapper is kinda wild lol. begging for Israel-Palestine rap songs is also wild

I expect rappers to talk about palestine tbh, i am dissappointed with any celebrities who dont tbh.

You are right, it is wrong to just hold rappers or black people responsible but I KNOW pac would do so much about it and it hurts me that its lacking right now.
If u ask rappers today pac is a legend and he is everybody's idol but?? Like. Show me some of it?

ngl bro some ppl are just more inclined to get passionate over a crisis on the other side of the globe. pac is pac, we are not pac. and that's fine i think.

also why do u expect anyone without a stake in the israel palestine conflict to talk about it? what would they add? I already know it's bad; I don't need someone who only kind of cares about it to tell me that.

I know it sounds crazy to americans but i hold american citizens accountable about US and Israel damage to world. Idk how much of real democracy left in there but yall still voting for this evils. Even obama was a terrorist. Like why wouldnt us citizens be mad at their government for supporting israel to bomb children?
Not saying our government is better but at least we do protest and try to do something about it even after all the oppression

I just think hiphop has a great platform to call for justice and i believe maybe black community can relate to this.

But then again i understand yall too busy with your own problems but US has the power and it gotta change inside cuz when we try to we are terrorist and its nothing to kill us middle easterners

ur speaking from ignorance bro. where I live, we've had multiple huge protests and everyone ik hates what the US is doing over there. it doesn't matter bc the US population doesn't actually get to decide anything regarding this. we only vote for people, US citizens don't actually get to vote on laws or policies and especially not military policy.

The education isn't there. A lot of these guys still think black capitalism is the primary tool of liberation.

one of the realest niggas to ever do it tbh

  • idk man. i think now more than ever the sound of mainstream rap has become vibe/“this s*** hard” focused. you can’t really put political statements over what’s hot rn - no one tryna hear Ken Carson talk abt liberation over a rage beat or something like that, it wouldn’t even sound right tbh. even more lyrical acts like griselda don’t make it a huge facet in their raps

i think once someone cracks the code we might be onto something but until then i don’t think a rapper like kendrick or common even has a shot at blowing up today - what avenue exists for them outside of rapping over Joey Badass type beats that people stopped listening to 3+ years ago? the closest things we have to a successful fusion is JID and redveil and even they feel like the last of a dying guard

Young Thug described it pretty eloquently when asked about politics in that one interview:
“Leave that up with the critics and the laws and all that old s***t” ” We having fun, we iced out, we having money. That’s how we doing it.”

Cause outside of Immortal Technique and Dead Prez, hip hop is full of materialistic capitalists who support the status quo. So, there's really no need for them to enter politics since it won't really shake things up.
