Before rap music, we had Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop is culture man. Hip-Hop was a culture and a strong one at that. Today, Hip-Hop doesn't exist. Pac was the embodiment of Hip-Hop. Music, Intellect, Code speaking in music, Dances, lifestyle, Films, Arts, voice and impact.
Drop Pac in any era of Hip-Hop and he eats. Can't say that for every artist.
Damn didn’t see this before I posted it. You said it perfectly
Pac is more and more of a clown to me these days but yeah he’s easily top 3 DOA
name one rapper, or even musician in general, ever, who wasn’t contradicting as a person
wayne
I don’t know why he’s considered the greatest ever, he was a gimmicky clown. He wasn’t even a good rapper.

Trash take
I personally think he’s overrated. He was very contradicting as a person and a bit phony. His albums didn’t age well at all imo. And his rapping skills were extremely mediocre at times. He was a much better actor
Bugging his albums aged well. You do know 2pac is remembered so much because of all the songs that were bootlegged back in the day. You do know people use to buy his unreleased songs out of swap meats. Most don't even know his most greatest song ever Changes was a song he recorded when he was 21-22 years old. A song his label rejected. 2pac is not overrated. Example I went to Africa once and I heard 2pac's 🎶 in the loud speaker. From there I knew this guy 2pac is great. A couple months ago I was walking around and I see a couple people in front of a corner store celebrating/crying over someone who passed. Guess what song they were playing Life Goes On. I was shocked and said to myself now I understand why he is so great. His albums aged like wine.

Why?
I don’t even care to try and explain anymore
If u can’t peep why then that’s just on you dawg
Image, voice, lyrics, body of work, activism, acting, personality, fashion, and in touch with his masculinity and feelings. A true renaissance man in truest sense.
He had all this by simply being himself and Barry tried.
He was what 50 and Wayne were to the 2000s and Drake is to this generation. You could argue his talent (Biggie stans will say he was better) but he was at the top in his prime and iconic that's just a fact. I guess you could try and put X up there with them but I think I was just too old for his music
So when they say "greatest" thats more than just skill, more than just having a classic, more than the music. You had to change the culture and that is extremely hard not every legend accomplished that
Biggies is amazing but very one dimensional if you really think of it. He had amazing flow and lyrics. Pac on the other hand was dynamic and excelled at everything he touched.
Why?
The way he was acting after he got out is painful. That super thug s*** bit him in the ass real quick

50? 1 good album, despite the crazy sales. No.
