Veeze and Lucki do this type of s*** all the time and no one holds it against them

Okay but Lucki was out ahead of a lot of people in that space. Veeze has a distinct delivery in a trendier space (Detroit wave). Cordae has never stood out in any way. He was tryna fill the void Joey Badass left when he became an actor and tried to go pop

    “They have aura”

Veeze specifically has a very unique delivery that works very well with the punch ins imo. Every bar being an ig caption is no joke and if you really know what he's talking about it makes it that much harder. And he always picks beats that complements him well. At the end of the day his entire catalog is just 2 minute freestyles so I wouldn't expect him to be generational, but he's good enough at doing one thing that I would consider him to be a good artist

Boredae is entry-level lyricism. He's a gateway into the artists above him in his tier

They both have bars and Lucki is 100x more vulnerable/interesting than Courdae

S*** is crazy. Dude really be talking his s***. It takes a lot of skill to drop a 20+ song album where damn near every line/every other line is caption worthy/quotable

He labels himself as a lyrical rapper but gets out rapped by Anderson paak when rapping is like
Paaks third prioritized skill after singing and drumming. Yeah he’s trash

    Cordae is ass tho

When it comes to the actual technical s*** he ain’t that good. Doesn’t really have bars/punch lines/entendres like that and easily gets washed by most other dudes in his lane

Most of his “deep” songs are very surface level and kinda lack any interesting personal perspective

His production is boring as hell. It’s like he goes out of his way to pick the most generic type of beat for whatever sound he’s going for

The diet Cole label makes sense because those are all things Cole himself has already been criticized for so to do all the same things but even worse ain’t a good look

He said rhyme schemes nothing about delivery/charisma

Literally being mad that he rhymes bad b**** with savage or 1,2 with kung fu when that’s the meat and potatoes of the type of rhymes lucki and Veeze does lol

    Because he's corny

One thing I've wondered is what separates his brand of corniness from J Cole's where one can be considered much cooler than the other and more commercially successful despite making very similar music

    Please lol

he glues it all together with “bad b****/savage” tier rhymes. He def has his appeal but rhyme scheme the same 1-2 syllable simple set up delivery y’all hate from cordae or Sean y’all love from Veeze and lucki because they talk about vague street activity or being a designer heroin addict lol

    How

Literally the lines they say are s*** from cordae or Sean or Russ type rappers they literally call quoteables from Veeze and lucki because their aesthetics and subject matter make y’all automatically lower the standard lol

Niggas used to do the same for Quavo Offset and T***o** not saying they’re not talented but the standard is raised if you don’t have the aesthetic of having sold d**** or proximity to crime before rap, or if you generally carry yourself like you were outside/not a hip hop purist-nerd

Veeze and Lucki do this type of s*** all the time and no one holds it against them

and thats why niggas not comparing Veeze and Lucki to Cole.

"Real life, ain't no act in it
All these rap niggas, they be Brad Pittin'
Every little thing I do is mad different
Got my lil' cousin playin' badminton" - Cordae

delivery, subject matter and production matters

That lucki song you posted got good cadence and produciton.

    is veeze really "detroit wave"

I always felt like his music was the antithesis to everything popping in michigan right now, but in a good way

Veeze and Lucki do this type of s*** all the time and no one holds it against them

It’s the type of genre the artist partakes in that determines how seriously they lyrics get taken.

I just do not buy into the Veeze hype personally, but other than ktt2 hypers who’s out here calling him lyrical?

Cordae meanwhile intentionally submits his name in the ring of “lyrical rap” so his lyrics are gon be dissected more than that of a veeze or lucki.

And tbh, bro kinda basic and just….there.

The 2 last things you wanna be as a lyrical rapper is basic and just there.
