Literally the lines they say are s*** from cordae or Sean or Russ type rappers they literally call quoteables from Veeze and lucki because their aesthetics and subject matter make y’all automatically lower the standard lol

Niggas used to do the same for Quavo Offset and T***o** not saying they’re not talented but the standard is raised if you don’t have the aesthetic of having sold d**** or proximity to crime before rap, or if you generally carry yourself like you were outside/not a hip hop purist-nerd

difference between veeze and sean is that veeze knows how to deliver his punchline in a very effortless way, whereas sean will try to give a punchline and you can tell he spent his whole night trying to come up that

veeze says something like "who shot me in my back, nah my outfit jus ricky" so casually and its a crazy double entendre and sean will say some s*** like "she doin tricks with the p****, i guess she's a vagician"

There’s always been subgenres of rap that were expected to be less lyrical no one expected a 2 live crew or uncle luke to be spitting bars lol.

Dont think its so much about standards as much as it is what do you give to your field.

Lucki and Veeze (allegedly, im not a listener) provide a lot for their respective fields that few can replicate.

Cordae, with all due respect, there’s 4-5 rappers I can name off the top that give me more in his field than he can

If anything cordae getting the hype in the first place is a lowering standard imo.

It’s the type of genre the artist partakes in that determines how seriously they lyrics get taken.

I just do not buy into the Veeze hype personally, but other than ktt2 hypers who’s out here calling him lyrical?

Cordae meanwhile intentionally submits his name in the ring of “lyrical rap” so his lyrics are gon be dissected more than that of a veeze or lucki.

And tbh, bro kinda basic and just….there.

Well for one they ain't even in that "lyrical" lane like cordae tries to be so bringing them up trying to compare them is weird. Of course niggas are gonna expect u to bring it if you're in that lane. And delivery/chrisma is what can make a basic line or basic rhyme schemes sound crazy. Cam'ron made them "ooyey gooey, chewy chewy, tooti fruiti" lines sound hard because of that. So when you say "nobody minds" when veeze or lucki does it that's why. Maybe Cordae should go find some of that
