wesThe main one I've seen is that the main antagonist of the base game (and honestly, most of the antagonists in that game) aren't too compelling. I think this is a really valid complaint, but it never bothered me. Royal's antagonist more than makes up for it though.
Also see that people aren't a fan of the cast and how they don't really feel like close friends compared to something like Persona 4.
Another big one I've seen is the length of the game, but you're playing a JRPG, so you can't really expect it to be too short lol. Think it's a matter of preference though. I put 100+ hours into both playthroughs of P5 and P5R and didn't want those games to end.
I won't accept P5/P5R slander. That game is perfect in my eyes. It's the only game I ever bought AND completed TWICE. I got really into that game and the royal edition just made me love it more.

I couldn't get into nier. I tried like 3 times and just got bored. Maybe once I catch my backlog up I'll play it again.

Whatever sidequest you don't do now you can come back to in the next playthrough dont wanna potentially spoil anything so ill leave it at that but for now you're good

once you unlock chapter selection you won´t miss anything, don´t worry about it

Don't worry bro the endings aren't triggered by side quests, you can just playthrough normally and get to all of the endings. Just know the A and B aren't the end, they're just the first half of the story.

yeah man you just load your latest save file and in the second menu where you have 'start game' you will also have chapter selection, once you get your ending you will be saving it over that last save file you loaded, keeping the other endings and progress
