Idk, I’ve always thought suicide (in some cases) as very logical. Not even just people who are terminally ill, but even those whose lives just aren’t worth living. People always say “why kill yourself, your life might get better” but if you’ve had a s***ty life, after a certain amount of time the chances of your life just magically improving are pretty slim
Agreed
No one has a life that is not worth living, no matter how s***ty they may think it is. Life is always worth living.
People always say this but I think it’s because they take a lot of positive things in their own lives as a given
Because unless your chronically ill it’s an trait of a unstable mind which can be worked on with effort
There is always a light at the end of the tunnel
That light at the end of the tunnel can be an oncoming train, too
its selfish and objectively wrong
You have to be selfish in life if you want to be happy...
…
Actually it’s legal in some places, like the Netherlands. nytimes.com/2023/04/27/opinion/medical-assistance-in-dying.html
@op, I may be wrong but the fact you made this thread suggests to me that you're looking for alternatives to suicide. Or at least part of you believes there may be an alternative. Otherwise you would just do it.
While I personally believe that it's ultimately the individual's right to choose, it is a fact that it would cause untold damage to your loved ones, and I don't think it's something that you want to do either.
With that in mind, have you seriously considered the possibility that there may be concrete actions that you can take which could eventually lead you to a happy and fulfilled life? If this were possible, would it not be preferable?
I know you've said that you've tried everything you can think of, but I think it's unlikely that you have thought of everything. Especially if you have not read up on modern methods in clinical psychology.
I'm very sorry you've had no luck with your therapists and doctors, but not all therapists and doctors are good at their job. Please don't let a bad experience with a doctor convince you that you have no options.
I'd be happy to expand if you're interested, just reply or DM me. Best of luck either way.

yeah pretty much
Life can get always get better as long as you are not dead
Life isn't meant to be "good" also, life is just the opportunity to live, you only get one shot, do not miss your chance
Would say this too but feel this is easy to say when you're not having mental issues, have a proper education/job, loving family etc.
There are literally people on Earth who go through hell. Abuse, poverty, malnutrition, war, trauma, diseases, no jobs available or a very s***ty job etc.
Feel it's really easy to say, while most people end up in a situation they have no control over

thanks for this post. yes you’re right i’m not actually trying to end my life right now. i’m just at that point again where i don’t find much sense in existing.
my experiences with therapists has been quite good actually, there’s a lot of things i’ve learned and am able to implement into my life. i just realized that even if you’re in therapy it doesn’t necessarily make your life better, especially if things like food, money, physical health etc. are still a problem.
right now i just feel like i’ve come a dead end and there’s not much left for me to do to genuinely live a better life

Great post
a lot of people don’t see this
Yeah noticed it's hard for most people to look from different perspectives. Most people compare it to their own situation or struggles
You have to be selfish in life if you want to be happy...
can’t he happy if you’re dead
1. Because if life isn't worth living then that society in which suicide is taboo has failed as a whole.
2. Most modern societies currently were built on abrahamic faith values where suicide is a sin and a very bad one at that.

Thanks for this. I think I see what you're saying. To me there's a big difference between actively seeking to end your life and finding existing nonsensical (or however you want to put it).
At risk of sounding reductive, it seems your options are either to decide to end your life, or find a way to make it work. Obviously, I would prefer you to take the second option, but who cares what I think. If that's what you yourself want, then I really do believe there will be things that can improve your situation.
I don't know your personal circumstances and realise that your physical health and financial situation may feel profoundly, if not overwhelmingly painful and insurmountable. I don't want to patronise you on this, so will just say that countless people have overcome unimaginable physical hardship to achieve greatness.
Human history being what it is, it's pretty much guaranteed that however bad you've had it on that front, there will be someone who has come back from worse. That's not to say that it would be without struggle, but the point is that it is possible - and absolutely not a dead end.
If you're in trouble mentally, however, all of that is impossible. This brings me to my point about clinical psychology etc. It's hard for me to reconciliate your having good experiences with therapists with feeling like you're on the verge of killing yourself. That seems like pretty much the exact opposite of what therapy is supposed to do.
The right mental health treatment has the power to transform someone who is suicidal (or has even attempted suicide) into feeling positive about life on a day-to-day basis. It changes your brain chemistry - you just feel happier and more energetic in the exact same external situation. These internal changes give people the power to solve the physical problems in their life that previously seemed impossible. I've seen this happen firsthand, including from people who actually attempted suicide.
This has been a long post so will leave it there but let me know if you want me to expand on anything. Thanks for reading and all best.
I remember my thread on this getting locked because people couldn't handle this discourse and said my thread would be encouraging suicide.
maybe because you would cause unbelievable hurt to people who love you?
Those people don't have to go to sleep in your shoes every night. The end of the day you have to go to sleep with yourself and your own thoughts, no one else.

This is a lie. The government wants you be to a slave to capitalism. If there no was no capitalism, then there be no incentive to keep you alive.
