I was here thinking he said something else. Being pressed would imply he keeps talking about it. He mentioned this s*** once lmao
Can’t imagine being an adult and having to make your image “guys I was a high schooler a bit ago” to appeal to high schoolers
Because in Tyler's view Ian is a minstrel act impersonating black people for profit and for a black person calling out that kind of behavior isn't a reach down its expected.
i get his stance and completely understand but with how much he reveres eminem it perplexes me. old heads when em came out said pretty much the same s*** verbatim.

Dude I feel like one of the biggest problems is that these young guys are only making music for other young people. This creates a problem where all of them are only known within a certain age group instead of not realizing that they could be superstars if they made music for everyone.

he subbed him in the new song

Em wasn't pretending to be black and his music was much more lyrical and based in the fact he was a white guy.
Terrible comp

You really comparing Em with that kid?

ian plays up and makes fun of his whiteness all the time wym?

The music he's making is outright a copy of the sound of black artist Em wasn't rapping like a parody of black rappers
You really comparing Em with that kid?
no cracksteppavegan just how they were perceived i don’t feel one way or the other about ian tbh
Ian is closer to Riff Raff if we do a white rapper comp which is the problem

i agree with u but ppl still said the same s*** is my point.

For different reasons

Nah man Riff is actually a talented rapper and is well respected. Don't compare some suburban kid cosplaying as Lil Baby to him...
Ian could never make a song like this
Why does the younger demographic seriously have nobody With rapping talent? The youngest rappers I can think of that are actually skilled making meaningful music that isn't meme nonsense or gimmicky are people like redveil and he's like 23 or 24. He's not even that young by rap standards
yeah i was gonna mention redveil super talented guy
no cracksteppavegan just how they were perceived i don’t feel one way or the other about ian tbh
The difference is Em earned his stripes in an era where you really had to show out. Whatever those initial comments were died down because he was that undeniable, and his upbringing brought him some legitimacy. Even if we're talking from a perception standpoint, the comparison doesn't stack up in the least bit.

i agree with u - valid point. i’m not comparing them as artists at all don’t get it misconstrued. it was just weird to me is all. quality of the art plays a part fasho
Ian sucks
But he explained relatively well why he is not a fan there isn’t much to ponder lol
