My take on the Ian thing is that if Ian is mocking hip hop with with his music, then he is a hack and sucks.
That being said, I am not sure that’s what it is. Yes, he’s very influenced by black artists and the sounds of the underground, but he seems to be just making his own art and it happens to be conflated with mockery.
Now, I don’t listen to Ian or watch his videos, so if he really is mocking, I wouldn’t know, and like I said, he stinks on ice if true.
But from the little I’ve seen of photo shoots, video clips, etc. he just seems to be a straight laced white kid interested in making trap music
