swans is definitely my favorite artist of all time. i don't think anybody has made such captivating and incredible music the way Gira does it. they continue to blow my mind after every release, which is a very daunting feat.

curren$y my 2nd favorite artist, man is such slick as f*** with smooth and silky ass music to match up with it.

both got massive discographies which i probably heard millions of times, yet i don't get tired of it one bit.

Lucki is your favorite rapper's born after 1990 favorite rapper with good reason, he got quotable on quotable in literally every single song

his songs are not only impressive in terms of wordplay and eloquent creativity but most importantly relatability

he was born the same year as me and the fact that i've been following his career from his first project on just made that connection stronger

Party makes the exact type of music i would make if he didn’t make it lol. Perfect blend of rap and r&b and loved that combo since pretty ricky. A lot of artists flirt with these two genres but party perfected it imo. Also he really f***s with Miami heavy and he made me appreciate my city more with his music

Such a great artist, he's really up there

Aside from the obvious ones though I gotta say Marvin Gaye cause he was h**** and conscious like myself and balanced them both so well

did Marvin Gaye make anthems, put emphasis on production and the overall sound of his music, and take collaboration to another level though?

But seriously, Usher is my fave cuz he's the first pop star I knew. I remember watching the OMG video in the skating rink and I loved the song, and I saw him dancing and singing and flying with the shadows on the wall lol.

I asked my aunt "who's that?". She said "He's Usher". I replied "Like the ushers at church?" I was shocked that somebody actually named their kid Usher lmao

But I remember the RvR era was huge. His songs were on the radio all the time, at least 5 times a hour. He had songs on the R&B, pop, and hip hop stations all at once. It was amazing how he tackled so many different genres at the same time. Then when the OMG tour kicked off, that's when I started to love the art of performing. I saw pictures and YouTube videos of him flying above the stadiums and dancing like crazy all while singing at the same time. Then there were moments that had me hella confused, like one time I think he took his pants off. I didn't understand his whole sexual thing, cuz I was so young (I obviously get it now lol)

But yeah, he's the one who made me want to become an artist. He's my biggest influence, outside of my aunt (who's my piano and voice teacher. She'll always be my #1 inspiration )

Edit: Didn't know I said all that

    Good thread

Juice is my favorite artist because his lyrics were super relatable when it came to heartbreak and depression. It’s Iike he took the words out of my mind and put them in a song. Plus the fact he’s able to make these type of songs into a catchy melody just resonated with me.

My favorite is Pharrell. His influence on my life is profound. As a kid growing up in the hood he showed me there’s another side than just being a street nigga. Quite honestly I don’t where I’ll be now if it wasn’t for him.

His infectious, signature bounce in the 2000s pulled me in. He’s undoubtedly one of the most talented artist to ever exist.

I’d personally say that Prince is the favourite artist of mine. Why is that?

Well, first and foremost, Prince was indisputably a multi-instrumentalist, as he had the capability to play guitar, bass, keyboards, piano, and various percussion instruments; second of all, he’d always been deemed innovative for a reason, and here’s what might have—in particular—contributed to such a universal point of view, as far as I’m concerned:

Firstly, the entire Minneapolis Sound music genre would’ve never existed if it hadn’t been for him. It is moreover noteworthy that he’d frequently aim to interpolate numerous music genres on almost each and every new release of his; examples being: jazz fusion on the Madhouse side-project with Eric Leeds on baritone and tenor saxophone, and flute (occasionally with Sheila E. on drums and Levi Seacer, Jr. on bass, too); country on “Right the Wrong” and “Dinner with Delores” from “Chaos and Disorder” (circa late 1993 and early 1995); blues on the whole “The Undertaker” opus, and “Peach” (circa June of 1992 and 1993); gospel throughout “Purple Rain” and “Lovesexy” (circa 1983–early 1984, and late 1987–early 1988); hip-hop and R&B on almost all the bodies of work of the ‘90s; etc.

On top of that, given his five-octave-spawning voice, he was just as blissful and peculiar as a vocalist as he was the musician.

And thenceforth, that’s why not only do I genuinely believe Prince is my favourite artist, but withal the best musician of all-time; period.

21 Savage is one of my favorite artists because of the way he works subtle humor into his bars. When he says stuff like "levi jeans, low self esteem, he on blackpeoplemeet" and "so many shots the neighbor looked at the calendar, thought it was fourth of july, you was with your friends playing nintendo, i was playing around with that five" he becomes entertaining in a way few other rappers do.

I also think his work with Metro Boomin is next level especially on Not All Heroes Wear Capes and I think their next album will be an instant classic

    A Mad Ass Nigga

DaBaby one of my favorite rappers because he doesn’t take himself too seriously. When you look at him you think “oh this one of those tough ass niggas” but whole time he a cool ass dude til you piss him off. He make fun music and have bars too.

Blame it on Baby is one of my fav albums this year
