His last album was meh, people were just super disappointed in the direction he headed with country-style music and all, not to mention the ALM incident on Twitter. Sucks that everyone forgot about him afterwards, hope he'll come back with a solid record in the future.
honestly sadly I feel like nowadays it's almost impossible to gain back a huge audience and get one last imperial phase once you f***ed up an entire album cycle. there's just so many other younger artists they'd rather listen to. it's so sad though because I know he has so much more potential than most new artists, if only he continued to get a huge label backing to put him on
He's disgusting fr and really disingenuous
He really said "the more you realize we're the same"
After having made a song alledgedly about interracial relationships called that girl in which he songs about not caring what the world thinks via he loves that girl over a 60 soul/rnb sound...
He was alledgedly inspired by a movie about ir relationship "guess who's coming to dinner"
How we all "the same" but you singing about not caring that y'all (the coupe) not "the same" ???? 💀
Here's the song btw
!https://youtu.be/Q0lnciapJjkwe not giving that bozo any streams nor ad revenue.
ok but I think you're interpreting too much.
you know jt bumping this super loud rn:

Agreed by the time all that bullshit went down numerous acts have already taken his place in the mainstream, especially The Weeknd. I think he should collab with him along with newer acts and try to deviate from the usual Neptunes producers too, more Timbo would be cool too.
Unfortunately I doubt he'll regain the success he had before MOTW but can make himself somewhat relevant again...
At that point in career I feel like he had more than earned the right to experiment with a new sound. Unfortunately that Americana pop mixed with 808’s shtick when done by Pharrell sounds generally s***ty for the most part (although songs like Higher Higher, Breeze Off The Pond and Montana are incredible) and it was the first album where he had multiple misses

or you're slow.
I was just reminded how corny that "that girl" song was especially in contrast to that tweet
It's a song no one talks about...
The sound is literally a carbon copy of 60s black music and the topic panders to black people heavy.
Yet he can't acknowledge that he's appropriating black music cuz "we'RE AlL ThE sAme"
if only that was the worst part of it
I couldn't get through it...
I stopped at "I lived in the ghetto and was nice to my neighbors"
or whatever the hell he was trying to say
lets not act like the album was hot
Literally tryna rewrite history. That album and rollout was GARBAGE. JT rightfully got s*** for it. End of discussion.

i never liked the song anyways. what a clichéd sound. boring melody too.
Man of the Woods had some joints on there. Filthy, Montana, Midnight Summer Jam, Breeze off the Pond were good.
breeze off the pond is my fav joint off of that album
damn that album really ruined this nigga
i don’t even think of him when ppl say JT anymore

s*** man it's really over for him, he's moving into Usher territory in terms of irrelevance. didn't help that he recently turnt 40. the pop stars of today are 22 max
