    clearances take a while

leaking the song takes 20 seconds

    What needs to get cleared?

  • NBA GameBoy

    What needs to get cleared?

Because it’ll instantly put him up in an objective, unarguable, data-lead sales race against Like That. He’ll have to go #1 and if he doesn’t, the numbers and sales guy will have lost to a song by the guys he’s beefing with, and to a song that directly calling him out. He has too much to lose.

Easier to just send it to akademiks and letter twitter blue tick rap pages post it because (as shown) everyone will hear it regardless + he is bypassing having to compete on a front other than strictly the bars/disses. Literally no downside. Also helps that that song is undeniably a great response.

Also doesn’t have to explain to his sponsors why he officially released a song of him calling dude a midget

It was originally an AI that he re-recorded and they working on getting writing credits worked out before they can monetize. That’s why some lines were changed, new beat, and there’s more energy in the newer draft

This is based on nothing but my fanfic

Won’t chart nearly as high as like that which would be more ammo for a diss

  • Why would he? It's already out there and doesn't sound like it would pick up like Back 2 Back. I wish he did so I could listen to it easier but I don't see it having enough legs to justify posting it this late

nah, charts super weak right now it would have debuted at no1

he isnt dropping because he doesnt need to make money off the beef with them niggas and his only official drop will be his kill shot towards kendrick, everything else is just playing around

  • Apr 17

its gettinh this much traction off a 'leak'

  • because he clearly doesnt want to chart with this song, if he goes no1 with this diss, they would say its because his jewish connections... he wants to keep it lowkey

  • ChristianDiorDenim

I saw somewhere that it samples Biggie's What's Beef?

If that's the case there's no chance he'll get sample clearance from the family, esp given the subject matter. I believe Pusha already talked about that with Exodus 23:1. That's the reason for that song never being on DSPs.

    exodus 23:1 too fire

Why are people upvoting this?? He could clearly upload it to YouTube and make it ineligible for streaming just like Duppy Freestyle

What if he drops simultaneously with kendrick in order to overshadow his track on the charts

  • It sends a message that it ain't a b**** move like metro to sell an album.

Word, it's not about the numbers it's about him officially releasing it somewhere and standing on it vs smoke & mirrors

  • Russlio

Dumb as hell lmao if it dropped regularly before leaking it would have went number one

It’s not a catchy song tho no way it would stay at #1 for 3 weeks like Like That

And that would hurt his ego

The 6 adlib drake got is from a biggie song. They coulda cleared this

you missed the point. It's the specific Biggie song sampled and how his mother (Big's) views other rappers sampling it on their own beef records.

this is not to mention any approval he'd need from Puff's side, who caught a stray in the OG version. Not sure if that's a factor, but would be another blocker if it is

niggas shouldn’t have to do a deep dive to find music. the average music listener doesn’t hear songs if it’s not on apple music or spotify
