In the middle of all this Ak stuff.

Someone brought up a point how Rappers aren't even doing the same numbers they were doing 5 years ago.

Even Artist's like Drake numbers have all been trending down. That streamers have a stronger hold on the youth than rappers right now.

The kids look up too and f*** with Streamers more than Rappers. That's why Rappers thirsty to get the streamer co-sign.

That Hip Hop ain't really hitting the same and is on a overall downtrend.

    Why you think that is?

I bet people are listening to the same amount of hiphop as before, it’s just being divided among hundred(s) of artists now

How do you know they’re down

They were comparing Babys numbers on his last joint.

Someone said he was falling off. Cause it went down by like 60k.

When someone chimed in that all rap numbers have been downtrending for years

Cause its just not as good as before and social media killed the "superstar" concept like video killed the radio star

every empire is eventually gonna fall. but hip hop is still the biggest genre

as far as the music goes I think the genre is past it‘s prime and every generation already had their own classics. this generation’s biggest artists were either killed or fell off in some ways. s***‘s been stagnant musically tbh besides a couple exceptions. The Kendrick vs Drake beef revived this s*** for a moment so I believe there‘s still potential for a great era. The underground is still delivering tho

    I don't think it's social media.

I think social media enhanced stardom if anything.

Guys like Carti , Uzi , n Trav wouldn't have been as big as they are prior the social media era.

Could be a multitude of factors

iPad generation attention spans are f***ed through the roof and are too used to 10 second clips + infinite scroll content

Rap has seen a sharp decline in quality and meaningful content in the mainstream spotlight. Once a hit record passes its 15 seconds of fame there’s little reason to return to it

Record execs are out of touch and put out s*** that won’t stand the test of time.

Kendrick dominated 2024 bc people are tired of popcorn raps

Honestly this may actually be it.

Maybe the allure of rap ain't as strong as it once was.

Because it has been the center point for American culture for so long.

Maybe people are getting tired of it or waned off on it

    Roblox > GNX

Roblox is that new breed crack

If I hand a kid GNX, they wouldn’t know what to do with it

Steve Jobs made our generations handheld experience centered around music

& we’ve lost the art of selling music
