Kanye’s making music that’s always shifting the culture, maybe as of late his music hasn’t been up there but he’s still producing something new and different. He’s not worried about another number 1 single. He’s done that.

Drake’s new single sounds the same as his other s***. Like I’ve heard that single before. Without Lil Durk on it, song would be boring af.

I’ve said this before, but Drake hasn’t sounded inspired, energised or hyped since IYRTITL.

Most artist evolve, Jay, Wayne but Drake’s been making the same s***.

Nah not in the way u lot want but who cares not everyone needs too and barely anyone does

Kanye and Drake have vastly different careers and different aims

Drake is one of the most commercially successful artists in music history

Kanye is one of the most influential artists in Music history

Kanye’s enjoyed chart success and Drakes had influence

But for the most part you can’t be on Drakes level of commercial success and make groundbreaking left field music that’s gonna change the landscape

And you can’t be in Kanye’s position and have mind boggling chart success

They both do different things

Let’s appreciate them both for what they are instead of calling them out for what they’re not

More life was still pretty left field for drake plus a bunch of indivdual tracks hes done

Kanye still does reasonably well on the charts
Drake still has songs here and there that are more left-field and he still influences music with some of his stuff

But they each excel at certain things and for the most part they’re aware of that and stick to it

Drake doesn't have to and he's already impacted the industry plenty. He has nothing left to prove, which is a mixed blessing.

I think the more meaningful question at this point is whether or not he's likely to challenge perceptions of his music and what he's capable of. Right now, that seems unlikely. His sonic palette and subject matter is locked in tightly because it has worked for him.

Fans will stay happy, people who are bored with Drake won't have their minds changed. Either way, the money flows. He is who he is. I never expected him to be Kanye, he just isn't that kind of artist.
