    safe

Kanye and Drake have vastly different careers and different aims

Drake is one of the most commercially successful artists in music history

Kanye is one of the most influential artists in Music history

Kanye’s enjoyed chart success and Drakes had influence

But for the most part you can’t be on Drakes level of commercial success and make groundbreaking left field music that’s gonna change the landscape

And you can’t be in Kanye’s position and have mind boggling chart success

    They both do different things

Let’s appreciate them both for what they are instead of calling them out for what they’re not

    This is it

The Drake paradox: where the haters call you a biter and a wave rider who changes sounds all the time, but at the same time say every output sounds the same

He stopped with the sulking and paranoid mob ties s*** and came up with a dope ass hook for the ladies in the room. If we're being real, that describes a lot of his best music.

Absolutely, great subject matter and production was refreshing with that Lauryn sample. He needs to drop that mob persona, it comes off so cringe.

Do you prefer the new "certified lover boy" persona he's currently working on?

Song ain’t even been out one day yet and you asking why it isn’t shifting the culture...

And then you use Kanye as an example in 2020...

    You niggas need serious help

  • Aug 14, 2020

drake has never been a forward thinking artist tho

Kanye was always getting influence for other places outside of rap which led to intersting experiments happening in each record

i doubt he will ever make groundbreaking music as their is less incentive to

    its like jay

was jay a experimental artist no

was he great rapper with wide selection of great producers to chose from yes

same as drake, drake is talented lyricist (when he tries) and can basically get best producers in the game

Like plenty of great hip hop records don't need to re invent the wheel

i just want him to just sound motivated

There's a reason people fw his Rihanna collabs, she brings out his strengths as a melodic rapper and he doesn't do the Canadian mob s*** on those songs. Just straight up songs about love that people can relate to.

Sorry, listening to Take Care and vibing
