Probably not. An album might fly off the shelves faster than thriller did initially but you wont ever top full album sales unless thriller stops selling period
25 is tied with HIStory for total worldwide sales, it won't come close to Thriller
In short - no
To expand on that, no.
No one and no thing on this planet comes close to Michael Jackson. We are talking about a guy who at one point was second only to Jesus in terms of being known globally.
Drake might get a few spotify streams but in the bigger picture he doesn’t have 10% of the reach Michael had at any point of his career.
I tried to tell these niggas last nite, they didn't listen

HIStory was 2x the price of a standard album and released 2 years after the beginning of the biggest witch hunt in modern history.
Insane.

I'll scream it till the wheels fall off bro.
Where MJ is concerned I've got the numbers, the facts, the quotes etc
It's undeniable. To deny fact says more about them than it would me or MJs achievements
25 is 40+ million copies behind.
Thriller continues to sell more than 100,000 copies a year.
What makes you think it will outsell?
Thriller is 40 years old
21 is 9 years and is like 30x platinum
I just googled the best selling album ever and found this
The Eagles
The Eagles' 'Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)', which was originally released in 1976, has been confirmed to be the best-selling album of all-time in the US, with the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) reporting sales of 38 million copies. 'Thriller', meanwhile, is five million behind at 33 million copies.Aug 20, 2018

Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' is no longer the best-selling album of all time in the US
Before my time but I think they were the Hotel California guys

a 2015 album is tied with a 1995 album and that's bad?
You can't be this dumb?

Interesting take. Thriller still sells 100k every year like I said so that 2x lead is only going to get bigger. I can't find any updated Adele sales numbers.
The MJ disrespect in this thread is why I don’t y’all seriously.
You should've seen the amount of disrespect last nite in the MBDTF vs Thriller thread, s*** was nuts.

Provably false and I can provide receipts.

I chalked that up to this being a Kanye forum. Of course the Kanye album would win.

Sony were investigating but didn't have the spine to pull the trigger on it so fans did the numbers.
They pulled the same s*** before. This was shortly before MJs diamond celebration.

You missed the point, if it can't even surpass HIStory how is it supposed to surpass Thriller, especially when Triller, and Bad for that matter, continue to outsell it despite being decades older (your standards)?

Didn't even open that thread

I have no idea what you're talking about but it sounds like you're passionate about it so I'll just let it go. Tbh though that sort of stuff (sales and what not) never really excited me.

I mean MBDTF might be a better album for more years of listening I need to have, but Jesus Christ to disrespect a project that birth or open doors for all of our fav artists is just down right disrespectful

It sold more than HIStory during the same timeframe so Idk what you mean

Mbdtf is dope but it’s so overrated at the same time
Sales wise no, but i think more ppl listening to drake rn, then mj ever
Since like there is more ppl on earth in 20020 and streaming
You don't know how television and radio worked huh?

Last time Thriller was submitted to the RIAA for certification was 3 years ago, it historically has gone up by 1 million sales each year so it's probably around 36 million sold in the US now if it were to be updated, possibly more. After the reports of The Eagles surpassing in 2018 I wouldn't be surprised if fans bought more copies than usual.
