Are you doing the sub missions?

They level you up quicker & you get a lot of upgrading material from them

Ive done every songle one n been overleveled for the 2nd half of the game

Only boss that had me a real hard time is this final one i havent beaten still n only Lu Bu 1 n 2 was a genuine challenge for me

Its issues are mainly on PC, ive heard if you do inavisons on next gen tho it can crash which is the only major issue ive heard.

Im playing on last gen and i havent had any issue except if i do suspend mode too many times, then the sound n some graphics will glitch, but thats more on me/xbox than the game. Otherwise its been fine. Im playing on x1 with gamepass.

My stats are 35 wood, 35 earth, 20 metal, 20 water & 5 fire.

Im using Unparalleled Spear & Soaring Ursine Mace as my melee weapons.

Main spells i use are lightning weapon buff, earth defense, the metal spell that makes enemies take more damage & an ice projectile blast attack.

My side spells i use for specific things are the wood spell that heals me as i attack, the earth thorn spell that makes the enemy have the slow status effect, & poison weapon buff.

My armor is the full Rampacy set:

The main spirit i use is the metal style snake that causes massive debuffs to the enemy and many status effects, then other two i use is wood style Bixie the tiger dragon thing & the fire style unicorn from Lu Bu.

I mainly upgraded wood n earth because both my weapons get benefits from it while also upgrading my health n armor weight. Then one weapon gets stronger from water n the other weapon gets stronger from metal. They share two then have two different ones of the style attributes. I have five fire from early on in the game when i used to use one of the fireball attack spells, but i dont anymore.

N my armor plus its set bonus is really good.

Played this at a friends for like 3 hours and made hella progress . It’s only until i got stuck on the first boss in my own save that I’m realizing i wasnt using the block button at all . Only deflects

I’ve been thinking about getting this game. Not sure if I’ll like it though. If I played the fromsoft souls games, but not nioh 1 or 2, would I like this?

I’m in your same boat and i like a lot so far . I also have the bias of not actually having to pay for it .

Nice. How’s the combat and story so far?

Combat is fun and responsive . The difficulty isn’t a consistent momentum which is a con from the souls game but it’s hard enough at points to feel rewarding

Story is honestly mid

After playing through about half of the game, the game is good but its a definite step back from Nioh 2. There's less variety in weapons, abilities, enemies, pretty much everything lol. even the graphics in Nioh 2 might be a bit sharper.

I can only assume that its because this is their side game while the main team works on Rise of the Ronin, and they had to make it for all platforms

Man I wish ninja theory would give me another ninja gaiden man. It's been since ps2/regular xbox. Or wait xbox 360 I think the 2nd game was on. I commend them for doing other things though and not just using NG as a crutch but I'm ready to get a next gen version of that s***. Maybe I should just try this wo long at some point

Couldn’t get into Nioh 1 or 2, gameplay just didn’t click for me the way souls/bb/sekiro do. Is the gameplay/combat better in this even if you’re saying it’s less varied? Looking at copping it on sale

also nioh gameplay is not the same as souls at all - if you play it like souls then you will lose

its more combo based a bit and the stance switching (the genius thing about the games) is actually needed - also the side items and skill tree also help a lot

and of course the spirits and demon catching

nioh 1 is great and nioh 2 is a top 10 game of last gen and in my top 20 games of all time

one of the reasons nioh is great is because its not a ripoff or copy of souls even tho its a "souls-like"

this game specifically for me is just ok - not bad but not amazing - it feels like Nioh-light

but it does not have the stance system, so if the stance system is something you were not getting a hand of then it might be a smoother experience in that regard

but thats one of reasons its not as good for me, even tho it is basically a nioh side game

in Wo Long tho the level design and ai story chars that join missions/bosses are my fav of the game - and the character creator is really good

yeah the game is good and nice playthriough but its not amazing or groundbreaking as the niohs

also its loses a lot of the complexity of nioh even tho its basically a nioh side game, like sadly the stance system

its still a good game tho & better than most "souls-like", but i wish it was more nioh-like instead of being nioh-light, or just be something different altogether

very excited for their Rise of the Ronin game next year tho and its their main title - they also plan/working on ninja gaiden and nioh titles as well so one or the other should come after ronin a year two down
