lmao i miss Ed so much. And when Russell was riling everyone up by going on TV and talking a load of sometimes misinformed s***e but managing to land on some truth by the end of his neverending sentences

Same, hopefully we'll see more of him now that he's in the shadow cabinet

That transitional period for Rusell was extra hilarious to me since I was doing A-Levels at the time and we'd discuss often him in class & prior to that I knew him best from Get Him To The Greek looool

Hope so, ed makes me laugh even when he's trying to be serious. do you remember when he was like Paxman 'hell yes i'm tough enough' he came across like he had a good heart but was being bullied by his own colleagues the whole time. all of his awkward moments were like a perfect piece of performance art to represent the power struggles of being the most left wing person in your own cabinet

Lool, have you seen what Russell is doing now? he's super well read. i wonder if he'd have had less or more impact if he'd been as good at having knowledge to hand as he is now. His movies were a bit corny sometimes back then but his stand up was killer still.

When americans talk about uk music

I'm from Louisiana, but I'm a jungle producer so I have more knowledge on uk bass than the average American. I think its disrespectful to make music from another country and not know the history of the scene.

Dude f*** off I made a mistake okay. Its not a meme Im high and was having fun online before you showed up

How big is the jungle scene out in Louisiana? Do you listen to UK jungle artists? (Top Cat, LTJ Bukem, Shy FX, Ed Solo etc)

Theres a few of us here. Most of the US jungle scene is in cali

I'm on Yeska Beatz Records and yellow jacket records. Theyre based in cali

And yes I'm big on Goldie, ltj, lemon d, remarc, shy, johny l, bizzy b, just jungle, etc. Lot of guys. I listen to mostly older stuff 93-95.

yeah i feel like producers like Skream are way more embedded in london's scene. for a lot of these producers their music will just have felt like second nature from when they were growing up. There was a lot of crossover with producers like that with other UK acts from JME to La roux. UK drill has a uk perspective to it that Wondagurl just doesn't. I feel like the tweet put itt by op is probably an american who hasn't heard of the stuff from the 2000s and late 90s that didn't chart. Also nobody invented sliding basslines in recent history

Crazy how you can hear elements of wiley still in modern london producers just in some of the sounds they use even tho drill lowkey killed his genre for the last couple years.

skream is the goat, especially live

If Wondagurl was a man she would be considered one of the best producers of the decade by the hiphop audience.
She s***s on 80% of the producers out there.

  • Jul 6, 2020

Wondagurl one of the best of her generation, but this just ain’t true
