TheFaderHe has been promoting Peacemaker Season 2 this entire time by repeatedly saying that it is setting up the next movie in the Superman Saga.
Do you think he’s saying that so people don’t watch Peacemaker?
If he didn’t want “families” who saw Superman to watch Peacemaker, he would say that the two aren’t connected whatsoever

Okay? Why didn’t they say f*** in Superman then but they had Lex say it in the show? Because they want who to go see Superman movies? Everyone of all ages wow and this wouldn’t be possible if what show is required to watch? Peacemaker! Because it’s rated MA and some kids can’t watch it.

It’s comic book s***. Nothing is truly “required”. These films are never gonna be made to alienate everyone. Everything gets explained in every entry. Someone who’s never seen an MCU movie could start Infinity War right now and fully understand what’s happening after the first 20 minutes.

Is someone who doesn’t watch Peacemaker Season 2 going to be confused during Man of Tomorrow? Of course not. It’s a comic book film, they’re gonna overtly explain what’s happening in the first act of the film.

But so far Creature Commandos has directly tied into Superman which directly set up Supergirl and tied into Peacemaker Season 2 which is directly setting up Man of Tomorrow and also a spinoff show
Anyone still saying that the DCU is trying to tell small self-contained stories that don’t set up the next project is absolutely lying to themselves
I say this as someone who prefers that style for a cinematic universe so I’m not s***ting on it, I just don’t get why some are in denial about it

Sep 29, 2025I think it's fine for now, I was able to understand everything happening in Peacemaker and Superman without watching Creature Commandos. Though after watching it, the universe did feel more fleshed out and I cared more about Rick Flag as a character.

The DCEU was much more in-line with the idea of a cinematic universe telling self-contained stories. Yes, there were some projects that were obviously connected to each other (The Flash comes to mind), but for the most part, almost any other entry in the DCEU does not lead up to or set up anything else.
Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam!, Suicide Squad, The Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Blue Beetel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
All of these projects don’t lead into, set up, or tie into literally anything else in the universe whatsoever

I agree the later half of the dceu was self contained stories. But I think the misconception here is that self contained stories dont interact with the larger universe at all.
Thats just wrong and not how comic stories which these films are based off have ever worked. As long as the story is written in a way that can be followed without needing to know much bg of the larger universe then its a self contained story.
