Reading more about it, it seems like this outbreak has a significantly lesser chance of blowing up like COVID given a few key differences.
1. It isn’t (currently) as contagious as COVID, it typically has a more complex method of transmission.
2. We have a vaccine as is, it’s just a matter of increasing production.
3. Even if you get infected, the vaccine is still effective and worth getting. If you get vaccinated within 4 days of being exposed, you can significantly reduce your chance of illness AND (and this a big deal) if you get vaccinated while having active symptoms it can still reduce severity.
If this does end up becoming more and more widespread I could see compliance still being generally pretty good given the physical ramifications (especially as it pertains to the face).

So the vaccine is effective against this specific new form of the mpox?

I mean yes, obviously we have the technological capabilities to combat any pandemic. the issue has always been priorities. scientists warned us for 20 years that the next pandemic would be a coronavirus and that mass vaccination was necessary, this was ignored until it actually happened because health care is not a priority for the capitalists and imperialists unless its in service of the free flow of capital/labor.

their are different smallpox vaccines with different levels of efficacy against mpox. the vaccines that we know are the most effective aren't currently being mass produced.

There’s no information that I can find to suggest otherwise.

Gay men (more prone to be switches) have more s***and sodomy than the average heterosexual relationship (think of your average sexual deviant who's on grindr, extremely sexually active, right?), so they're more prone to this disease as a result, similar to AIDS.
But anyone can get it through skin contact.
