Okay but that has nothing to do with the criteria of OP

How is it a failure if it sold well and most people liked it

    It was a misstep creatively.

You could piss in a corner and go platinum in 97, that means nothing.

He was supposed to be the heir to BIG and this album.didnt put him there.

it was admittedly gonna be hard to follow up lp1 no matter what but as a massive midwest emo stan i was bored out of my mind with lp2. i thought lp3 was far better though and wish lp3 had been the comeback and not 2

and people just ignored it and called it preachy when it dropped

  • Nothing top 6ix9ine tbh. Mans pulled hella stunts just to come out and fade away after dropping his album. That’s what he get tho

    How?

Sophmore Jinx doesnt imply anything other then failure.

An album can sell units and still be disappointing whether its sales or creatively.

If it goes platinum and they expected it to go double, that's still a disappointment.

he just released it at the worst time. SC era was not the right time to drop lyrical stuff because all those kids were against it. F*** that era. If I had the ability to erase memories I would seriously want to forget late 2016 - 2019 completely

    WORST ERA FOR ME ever

    Thank you.

He's so f***ing obnoxious bro... Really pissing me the f*** off lately

when i imagine sc rap i imagine niggas like x, peep, wifisfuneral, ski mask, uzi, fauni, etc

niggas that came up off the songs rather than gimmicks

It didnt grow his fanbase or strengthen his profile as an artist.

Same people who.liked the 1st liked the 2nd.

For an artist who was so heavily touted, nothing every came of his career.

That 2nd album is the make.it or break it joint.

What was Joey's follow up.to it?

I feel like it kind of goes both ways bro like some of those SC rappers were cooll but 90% of them were trash..

when did memehead rap get popular? wasnt it during this era or was it earlier?
