Mopped/vacuumed the communal areas less than 3 times in 2 years (and only because he spilled a bottle of cooking oil once & the other time was because his girl came over)
Leeched off all his girlfriends, manipulated them into paying his rent & buying him stuff
Lied to us constantly
Stole money from us
Didn't pay our rent for months
Was late on rent for at least 9 months
Left his room a complete mess when he moved out, stains, dirt, grime, stink everywhere
All he did was play FPS games, smoke weed & watch Hulu/Netflix etc
His room smelt like ass and he wouldn't acknowledge it
Slept with every girl without a rubber
Would sleep with non-binary women occasionally but had no respect for their gender identity when he wasn't around them

my cousin was working in construction in new zealand. he was staying at this "hostel" which was basically just an old lady's house. he would share the common area, bathroom, and kitchen with her, but he had his own private room.
one day he got back from work and was very hungry. the old lady wasn't home, so he went into the chest freezer in the garage and started rummaging through to see if he could find anything to eat. frozen veggies, some chicken, other random s***, blah blah blah, then in the bottom he spotted a plastic bag. he pulls the bag out and it has the word "matt" written in sharpie on the bag. he opens the bag what's inside?
it's a f***ing human arm.
he freaks out, shoves the arm back in the bag and burries it back in the freezer, piling all the s*** back on top of it so it doesn't look like anyone has gone through it.
the old lady still hasn't returned home. it's now late and he has nowhere else to go, so he goes into his room and barricades the door then sits in his bed with a knife until morning. then he packs his s*** and jumps out the window and runs away.
he moves back to canada and he never reports it the police. still to this day, she is alive, free, and operating that "hostel" as far as we can tell.

at the time this happened he was only like 17 and wasn't the most responsible individual. i don't think he knows her actual full name or even remembers the address to report her. he would have to go back to new zealand and try and find that place again i guess.

Sep 26, 2022I never had an awful roommate per se, but I had a combo of:
-a dude who had clearly never lived alone and had no sense of spatial awareness. I lived in a s***ty apartment in a room with no windows outside and no overhead lighting, just a window between my room and THE F***ING LIVING ROOM. so this dude pastes LED lights all around the apartment (the f***) including around the window to my room. he'd regularly leave the LED light strips strobing and fall asleep so there'd just be strobing bright ass lights in my room until I fell asleep or told him to turn them off.
-another dude who was a complete slob. once left a pot of old mac n' cheese with noodles burnt and crusted onto the pot on top of the stove for a week straight. would leave takeout bags, chipotle bowls, etc out for days until someone said something.
-simultaneously, a guy with OCD who was super passive aggressive.interesting mix to say the least.
