The disrespect.
His early music is some of his most enjoyable from a pure bar to bar standpoint
plus he rapped over my fav Eno composition i will always respect him for that
which one?

Mac was getting so good. Timing of his death is tragic....but he had good tracks early on too.
He came into the game so much more original than Harlow. Thousands of white boys copied the style, no one jacking jack because his style isn't his own yet
Mac definitely was NOT white mediocrity, not with projects like Faces and The Devine Feminine. White mediocrity really only applied to artist that got extreme hype while alive.
His music has been great since his second album f*** outta here.
Since macadelic really
And then there's still tapes like best day ever and kids.
Op f***ing up with this one
His only bad/mediocre project from the era you’re referring to was Blue Slide Park
It was dope that he switched his entire sound after that project flopped and reinvented himself
facts his mixtapes before that all fire
dam op entering his dogshit poster arc im afraid

nah, in music, white mediocrity is when an artist is being overhyped/rated for being white in a culturally black genre
op's point is that he didnt make music any better than other artists but mac got more acclaim for it
mac being white in hiphop and the tragic circumstance of his untimely death contributed to how we view him (wether u like his music or not)
in the thread you'll see alot of same sentiment:
"the way he respected hiphop as a white rapper..."
the standards and expectations for him were different and y'all know it
