Yea it’s gotten pretty bad honestly my manager, senior above me, and India team leader quit within the same month
Lot of bullshit is falling on my head and I was very committed to leaving in June after normal raises
Leave for another company that’ll pay 85K for the same work
One time bonus paid in this Dec
After tax it will prob be 11k
Lol f*** that find a job that will appreciate your work more
if you dont mind tho could you mention how much you make now? just wondering how big of a bonus the 20k is
edit:
read the whole thread, id stay tbh if my base was 68k and they offered me 20k more (assuming 20 annually, not 10k a year). Thats a bonus almost 1/3 of your salary, which is really f***ing good, even tho it's not the biggest money in the world, it will make a difference
I average 50-60 hours
oh f*** that. leave if you have options of going somewhere else and getting similar pay
i'd probably tell em to kick rocks but idk how your field looks when it comes to job hopping.
but if you told them you're leaving and they gave this to you as a counter-offer, then yeah you pretty much gotta commit to heading out. that's a trap, they'll pay you that much so they can buy time and find someone who'll get paid what you used to for the purpose of replacing you. if you were worth that much to them, they would've been paying you that IMO.

how do you work that much and still post regularly on here lol
i stayed at a job i hated for 4 years until i punched a coworker (best decision of my life)
how do you work that much and still post regularly on here lol
There’s lot of downtime waiting for reponses
sounds like a good job then
Nah down time is bad cause it pushes things until the evenings/weekends
Depends on what’s available to you tbh
Wait you can get a different job by June that’ll bump you 10-20k? Seems like that’s the no brainer option

thats nothing if you have to stay two more years lol.
It was 68k but they’re bumping me to 75k this year on top of the offered retention bonus. They also said raises in June will be 15-20%.
They had a huge turnover at mid year levels so they’re trying hard to keep people
Damn, I can't imagine how ass the place must be that you can easily move past 75k.
For sure do it then.
It sounds like you can easily find a job in your field and potentially at a higher base salary too
Your ability to live happily and your health in general is priceless and it doesn't sound like you're struggling to meet your material needs to where you'd have to sacrifice those two things for that bonus
I wouldn't stay if I was in your position but let me know if those assumptions in the first part are off
The upfront of atleast 11k after tax would be pretty tempting for paying off debt from engagement ring/student loans rn

Yes it’s 20k gross upfront but bonuses are taxed very heavily so more like 11-13k

Congrats on the engagement
Those are serious financial concerns so I feel you more now but even without knowing everything else you got going on I still think you should consider leaving because 20 months being at a job that you don't like/is impacting your mental health/general happiness being engaged sounds very difficult to handle and potentially damaging

Yea I think the move is to apply constantly to places and see my offers. No point in waiting since I might be able to secure something without the 2 year commitment

Yeah, at the very least you should have options so that sounds like a good plan
I wish you the best and hope that you can find something better in all possible ways soon
