Yeah sure
20k a month
You just told one of the posters in the relationship drinking thread not to say something that could determine ops future with his girl but you want us to tel you what to do with a job you hate? You serious?

These are completely different things and you’re taking what I said out of context
Also I’m just seeing where peoples minds are at, this decision isn’t as emotionally sensitive as a relationship issue
I would absolutely take an annual 10k pay cut (more like 6k after taxes) to not be miserable at work. Find something more fulfilling that doesn't require 60 hour weeks.
I’m being offered a retention bonus but I dislike being at this job to a great extent.. if I leave by June I probably could get a 10-20k bump in salary
This bonus tho would be paid upfront and sooner
Jan Update: Yea f*** that, thanks for reassuring me their offer was s*** guys. Got a more enjoyable job that pays 30k more in total comp and has lesser hours.
If they offered you money to stay then it means you're good at what you're doing
Especially if you can go elsewhere and have a salary bump up
Go to that other place
Don't stay at a job you hate
Yes it’s 20k gross upfront but bonuses are taxed very heavily so more like 11-13k
still worth it tbh
I don’t really care for my job rn, but if I reinlist in 2025 there’s an 80K bonus on the table and it’s lump sum too
Switch jobs, you can find better salary
It is recommended to switch jobs often for salary increase

What job if you don’t mind me asking?
Sorta an equity/general research role; my coverage is consumer companies and I hold conference calls w. a topic expert for investors to listen too. My company makes money from the call transcripts they sell to them/subscription to attend those calls.

Interesting
Did you intern to get into that field or just got in without one

Just got in/interviewed well. My old roommate had the job right before so I applied right after he quit and knew what to expect.
