you said trap beats don't give you room to rap but you claim you was a lil wayne stan from day 1.

If that's the case, you would know that's the dumbest s*** to ever say.

Bro are you dumb. Lol. I'm talking about modern day trap instrumentals lol. .

What wayne rapped in his prime wasn't considered trap beats. Stop quoting me yo. Lol

Lol you are an idiot and you realize how dumb you sound lol.

You have no idea what separates trap music from what is considered a trap instrumental in today's music.

  • insertcoolnamehere

it's crazy yall only act this way towards trap beats but not boom bap beats.

You're less inclined to be tired of something you haven't heard enough of.

Lil Baby is actually one of the few rappers who rap about the trap still. And I’m pretty sure he has space to rap on his beats. If not what is he doing.

I didn't say all trap beats lol. I'm making a distinction between between OP considered non interesting trap beats to what boom bap beats are. And Lil Baby also doesn't get crediting for lyricism because of those same beats. Which is my point

Boom bap beats have a way of making you sound more lyrical even if it isn't the case

This not true, meanings of genres evolved all the time. What niggas are doing today would never be called hip hop.

Trap evolved, boom bap evolved, melodic rap evolved.

What’s the difference between melodic rap and “trap” in 2021 who are some trap artist

Modern trap beats are faster tempo, which usually means u have less space to rap when compared to a boom bap beat

You responded insulting me lol. Why would I discuss anything cordially with you after that. Lol. I'm good on this convo with you

The problem is the production isn’t really similar to what trap music was. That’s how I know people don’t actually listen. No way u can listen to old TI and think the production is that similar to the music today that u just have to call it trap music.

Ok but even if it had a different name and wasn’t called “trap beats”

I think op just means he likes yb on a different style of production then he usually chooses to go on

Cause the type of production he chooses is very similar to what’s popular in the mainstream world of hip hop rn

My biggest problem in this thread is the yb fans who refuse to acknowledge that and think his production is super unique and most of his songs don’t have similar production

modern trap beats are not always fast though?

and polo g and lil baby do just fine over that. Hell, Eminem does great over fast trap beats.

bro, you made a generalized uninformed statement and got mad when you niggas corrected you on it.

you act like there aren't fast boom bap beats. you act like there aren't slow trap beats. That was an ignorant statement.

OP made a simple point. NBA YB has so many albums with the same production that his skill level gets hidden behind his production lol.

I dont see how that's so hard to grasp.

    Actually not true

Old boom bap beats were like anywhere from 80 - 100bpm

Most modern beats are like 140bpm but it’s in half time so it’s actually like 70bpm

They just seem faster cause the speed of the percussion (the hi hats usually)

Problem is these people don’t listen to YB the generic beats just a cop out. YB picks a lot of the same sounding beats but they don’t sound much like what most rappers pick.

Dababy does the same but his beats don’t sound like YBs

Gunna does the same but his beats don’t sound like theirs.

So to me saying “generic trapbeats” just a cop out.

Also an artist like Yb the vocals and yes lyrics(if u actually listen) are way more important than the beats. The rate he records he probably raps on any beat that’s pulled up.

    to yall.

Not to his fanbase and to the fans that he has on this site.

The crowd that don't really f*** with hip hop (tyler's fanbase) that will come to YB from his wusyaname verse, are not the fans that YB gives a f*** about supplying in the first place

How was my statement uninformed when it's literally been said for decades

Boom bap beats are stripped down so you can focus on the lyrics

Trap beats today or what ppl consider trap beats has alot more volume therefore not giving as much to seem like you really getting off lyrically.

Listen to Ross on trap beats and on Kanye West production

Lol. There isna reason why his best verses are all considered to be on beats that aren't trap sounding beats lol.

The production, u can be melodic without rapping on trap beats. A lot it, is blurred tho.

By the og definition, nudy and 21 are close. By 2021 definition a lot of artists who rap that content over those beats
