Anyone who likes Kanye’s first 3 albums should love Carter 2 and 3. Carter 3 and Graduation aren’t distinctly different really, they have a lot in common. TLOP is in that same lane too, actually reminds me of C3 a lot
Ye is just more relatable to white people that’s really the distinction. Or presents himself as more artsy and certain fans need that. The music itself ain’t distinctly different tho
Ye more relatable to whites
Yall have me dead
Yeah and it's funny that it is just a generation thing. I completely forgot these guys exist just cause I grew up on rap starting from the 2010s. A lot of people on this site grew up on these guys you named and probably have high snotty nosed opinions too lol.
Generation is never an excuse to have that type of opinion imo. Generations dont exist anymore in the streaming era. Its just that ppl havent really grasped onto that fact yet. Too stuck on whats current, not looking at the entirety of art

Ye more relatable to whites.
Not the guy doing kickflips and walking out with an electric guitar doing collabs with white rock bands.
But Kanye.

Really makes you think
I mean this is bullshit. You're talking about an extreme minority of his listeners. Every artist you named is completely different from each other, which literally s***s on this whole point. "Artsy" is a signifier you've placed on them yourself. Those guys just make music lol
To say that fans of Carti and Travis don't like Future for example is insanity. To think they hate Drake is seriously you just not paying attention. Those artists all have a f***ton of listening crossover with Drake. Most of the ppl who listen to music don't even post about that s*** on socials honestly lmao. They're definitely not participating in any damn discourse.
Ye himself has never positioned any of these guys as less than him because of their stylistic differences. If anything he championed Wayne more than anyone not named Drake
I’m really not attempting to generalize ALL Kanye west listeners fam. I’m talking about the ones I see
You’re not getting it. I didn’t say Carti and Travis fans don’t like future. I said Kanye fans like Carti and Travis but not Future. He isn’t artsy enough
It may be a minority but there is an extremely large group of people that put Kanye Kendrick Tyler Frank Carti and Travis on a pedestal while writing other stuff off as too mainstream or low brow. The Dissect Podcast has a huge listener base and look at the artists they dissect. You will never see a street rapper get dissected. That podcast is representative of the people that have been running “rap Twitter” since right after TLOP

Wayne: I never had a bad experience with cops!
So relatable to the black community.
A lot of his fanbase are people that look down on street rappers and say that avant garde rappers make “real art” and street rappers are just rappers and that rap isn’t really an art form
Same people who say that rappers aren’t really musicians cause they don’t play instruments
Thats not kanyes fault its the internets fault, made music accessible to anyone.
Never heard anyone irl or online claim that Ye is the only rapper they listen to tbh.
I'd love to see some posts of people actually saying that because I've posted in tons of rap based Twitter feeds and never seen anyone saying this, not even hardcore Ye stans.
“More respectable”
Why exactly in your mind was it not “respectable” before?
You are the exact type of person I’m talking about lmao
Lol you got me wrong, not even saying what Kanye made was necessarily better than what came before in hip-hop just that he was smart to make it "readable" as high art in ways other hip-hop before didn't. Which is an achievement and the confidence he had in presenting it like that was important, but of course it also in many ways meant pandering to the rules set for high art by the white establishment...
