So if you check the back of the cd if features a different tracklist than the final one, and this tracklist actually makes some sense with a few ye interviews.
Kanye not wanting Hold My Liquor in it and Mike Dean convincing him.
Blood on the leaves being the first track of the project.
The project having 7 tracks something Kanye did later and already stated he wanted to do before with other projects.
The tracklist featured on the back of the cd is
1. Blood On The Leaves
2. I Am a God
3. Send It Up
4. New Slaves
5. I'm In It
6. Bound 2
7. Guilt Trip
29 minutes total
How do you feel the reception of the project would have been in this was the final tracklist ?
Personally I love On Sight and Hold my Liquor so much, it f***s me up.
And Black Skinhead is probably the most copycatted song of the last 10 years.
Casuals would’ve liked it off the bat. Final product is why it’s a classic
Edit: whoever convinced him to add the other tracks, and sequence it the way it ended up, salute to them.

Rick Rubin?
Rick Rubin?
nah , the 7 tracks was probably the tracklist he and rick Rubin ended up with the other 3 must have been ye's decision
just listened with the original tracklist order , 29 minutes gotta say it works pretty f***ing well too
Rick Rubin?
Nah cause initially it had more tracks, and alt longer cuts of songs
So maybe the 7 track was the original Rubin cut and then he changed it around 1 final time
I would guess the original tracklist was around 15-18 tracks
Also, there would’ve been a lot of interludes cause new slaves outro, one I love, and good things don’t last are all in the same vein. It was probably a concept that got axed to just new slaves outro
On Sight really was the perfect opener.
That very first listen
Something bout that beat just captures you
That’s how you knew it was gonna be something amazing
If he left Hold My Liquor off
at the listening session he told that he almost didn't have the track , mike dean convinced him last minute to put it in
damn , I'm sure you had other great ye experiences tho
(Nvm was TLOP listening session, got my timeline mixed up)

Guilt Trip being the album closer is actually heart breaking if that came straight after listening to Bound 2. Imagine if Guilt Trip was the closer god that's really emotional when you think about it
