If you hated Favourite
If you hated Favourite
I hate lobster and killing of a sacred deer. Like genuinely feel like their a huge waste of money and talent, so much talent

Only seen Poor Things. Can't say I hated it, but the book was superior

i’d say dogtooth, you’d have more of a shot getting into his earlier stuff than later stuff if you didn’t like lobster or killing of a sacred deer

He feels so nihilistic, like all of his characters are defeated by this weird dogma present in all of his films

both classics
my GOAT did it again
How accessible is this one compared to Poor Things? Debating on taking my pops with me or going it alone.

That’s kind of something prevalent in all of them. His characters all talk like detached robotic children, super stilted and like they’re putting on a weird performance
It may work for you more in Dogtooth because it’s not in English and so you have less grasp on the delivery and cadences on the lines (unless ur greek ofc)
And it might work more for you in Poor Things because it’s a heightened fantasy world with people acting incredibly strange, rather than a very cold real world

I think this style in the cold real world is hard for me to buy into

Yeah I assumed so. Like I said try poor things! The fantasy bright vibrant weird world might gel with the tone for you a bit more
