People on both sides make too big of a deal out of it imo
I mean given the history of the word, I think non blacks are the only ones who make a big deal out of it. All we ask for is it to not be said, it’s honestly not that hard to not say it. The bigger question is, why do they want to say it so bad?

I never seen a full answer to why they want to say it besides "its just a word"

Because no one likes being told they can’t do something, that’s just human nature
Also I feel like the majority of white people who say it really just say it when singing along to songs or something. I personally don’t because it makes me uncomfortable to say it, but it is annoying to have to censor myself when I’m trying to just vibe out
i did but then i think she said i was the only person who got mad about her saying the word
It doesn't matter. Most of them will try to justify them saying it and if you explain to them why you don't like being called something and they continue then they do not respect you period. There ain't no other way around it. You don't want to give your attention to people who don't respect you.
Non-blacks who try to minimize black people's reaction to that word are trash who do not respect black people or our culture. Same with dudes who call women b****es or whatever derogatory word.

nah you got it mixed up way too many white people say it because they wanna look cool and end up looking stupid but idrc if a white person says it now it's just the way life is now
I only let my white friends say it cuz they’re not idiots and actually understand race and discrimination. And I’m also the only person they use it around as it should be.

You might be right, I guess the people I’m typically around just don’t really do that. Definitely pretty cringe when while people attempt to say it casually in conversation. But if they’re the type of person to do that they probably have worse things going for them lol
I guess the concept of black women is foreign to OP.
non-black people have no business using the word. idc if they're an "ally", i don't care if you're willing to die for the cause (the cause being Black Liberation) like John Brown.
If you're black, you have a personal decision to whether or not you want to use the word or not and that's your business with no right or wrong position. The issue here is when some black people try to police other black peoples use of the word. We as a collective have many coping mechanism and how we choose to interact with the anti-black world we have to live in. Nigga is a form of political resistance and reclamation of the original word. Use it if you want or don't use it.
The whole "well stop using it if you don't want others to use it" is a logical fallacy. Apply that to any number of things people do that others avoid and you sound like a goofy.
Stop making these threads about this damn word though.
It's a f***ing word. Itd be different if it was only used in a negative context. But since it isnt and probably used more now in positive context actually it doesnt matter to me
People have become tribalist about a word that they use constantly. Idc about it unless it's used in a racist way as should everyone
when is it not racist?

i said cuz of it's oppresive use and also look how women call each other b****es like "my b****" there's a lot of diffrences between the words but i was just using it as an example because it's probably the second most used deregotorary word, idk how to spell that word
