    I thought a lot of the electronic instruments came from Germany as well. Like didn't Kraftwerk invent some of their own.

    Correct, Europeans and Japanese led the electronic instrument thing. You can hear crazy electroacoustic stuff way earlier than you would think, like 1950s era stuff.
