Yes, there is something wrong with saying that.
F*** off
So, and this is an honest question.
If I see my 5-6 year old song playing with a doll and/or wanting to wear a dress, I'm not supposed to say anything and just let him be?
Even though he is a kid and might not be able to decipher gender roles/norms.
As a parent, I thought I would have a responsibility to steer him to his role at such an early age.
Boys literally play with dolls all the time
We call them action figures LMAO
Instead of comprehending, yall are just trying to find any flaw.
Ok. Let me be more specific.
Not "doll", but a Barbie or something along those lines.

I am comprehending perfectly fine
Playing with a Barbie as a child doesn't make someone transgender
Question - Do you come from black family (as I do)?
I ask because, the black community has a hard time accepting this.
I can't speak for this new generation because they accept anything lol.
But the old school generation doesn't play that.
I don't know man. If I had a son and he wanted to play with a doll or wear a dress, I would probably say, "No. Boys don't do that"
Is there anything wrong with saying that?
my avi is me dog so understand where im comin from haha
i think the 'wrongness' in saying that is that you're just shuttin down your kids natural curiosity. to kids these early traumas (yes I know calling this a trauma is extreme but just bear w me) are the biggest events in their life to that date and they will remember them to the grave but for the parents its often just another Tuesday yknow?
i think a better response to that question is just talking w your kid. be curious in response to them. why does lil bro wanna wear makeup? is it coz he thinks its what makes a Human Pretty? is it coz he wanna be like momma? coz his big sis does it? bro doesnt see s***and gender to the depth that you do, and doesnt know the societal rules that go along with them bcoz he aint been taught/conditioned by society yet.
tradition in one way can be thought of as peer pressure from the dead. sometimes it doesnt make sense to keep beliefs pushin yk?
like i f***ed around with this stuff and ended up just being Some Guy with a Wife and a House then is it rly that big of a deal you know? its just makeup.
i think the crux of the issue here is that parents are less involved with their kids than ever before because they are overworked. simple as that.
Tbh this conversation is too much for KTT. I don’t wanna get banned. Good luck!

I am a parent and I would never think to punish my son for wanting to play with a Barbie
I do not know their pronouns but those shoes are kicking their ass lol they need to practice their walk

Gender is not set in stone, buddy.
No lol

So you would be punishing your son by taking the Barbie doll away and giving him a GI Joe instead?
I'm really trying to understand.

But please answer my question - If I see my 5-6 year old son playing with a Barbie doll and/or wanting to wear a dress, I'm not supposed to say anything and just let him be?

Why does the behavior of playing with a Barbie need correcting in your opinion?
So you would be punishing your son by taking the Barbie doll away and giving him a GI Joe instead?

I would let my son play with the toy he wants to lmao
Lol as I kid I never felt the need to do this.
as a kid I was pretending to get stuck in furniture and imagining lola bunny tickle torturing me bro
i made my transformers and zoids have f***ed up babies bro
lol you're incorrect about everything. parents can not 'turn' their child trans. trust me. what a ridiculous post.
You can raise your kids however you want (within reason). I won’t think it’s the end of the world if you don’t allow your son to wear a dress and wear high heels. I won’t think you’re abusing your daughter if you would rather see her play with some princess s***. I have my own thoughts on how far I’d allow my children to experiment and explore at such young ages.
At the end of the day they will be who they are. No amount of suppression or guidance during childhood is gonna make someone not be trans. If they really are then they’ll just live that life in private if it isn’t accepted at home and it’ll be a point of contention in yall relationship later down the line.
made a town with blocks and legos and had godzilla come in with a play-doh giga d*** and level the place. this is all pre-internet behavior btw.
