By the time WWII finished, the UK were getting out of the vast majority of countries that didn’t want them and the ones that did got their own government and the UK stepped aside to make room for a Commonwealth with those countries and the at that point powerless Monarch.

But boy oh boy, did America take a bad idea and keep running with it.

The UK didn’t make the wheel, if anything people like the Romans, the countries behind the Crusades and Genghis Khan did but the Americans turned the wheel into the all seeing drone.
