Thats one of 7 things I mentioned lol
It's just the most foolish out of all the other foolish things you said.
Only hip hop artist that check all of the boxes during their prime runs:
Dre
Ye
Pac
BIG
Maybe Em and 50. That's it. Nobody else.
tpab was massively influenced by mbdtf
Wasn’t it Yeezus since kendrick was on the yeezus tour ?

Kendrick has like 3 out of the 7. Not a bad thing. Just simply said Ye had all 7 boxes checked. Not many in rap history have been able to do that. There is a reason Kendrick wasn't considered the top dog in the industry until recently.
2010-2015 great time for Hip Hop.
Kendrick/Kanye at the top and Drake at the bottom.

Just Ye tbh as good as Kendrick is/was--prime Kanye had it all. Real hits/timeless classics, real classic critically acclaimed albums, huge popularity, huge influence, GOAT performances, GOAT videos, GOAT rollouts. There was only one Ye
Kendrick Lamar definitely benefitted financially from working with Taylor Swift. Do you?
kendrick is inspired by eminem among many others, he is mainly influenced by wayne and andre though, he doesn't sound like eminem at all.... eminem did not create a wave of similar sounding mcs
also the original argument that the marshall mathers lp ruined hip hop is ridiculous, even if kendrick were an eminem offspring (which he clearly isn't) that argument would still be dumb, especially when y'all name kendrick as the prime example lmao
Yeah but you can influenced by someone and not sound like them.. idk if agree with that take on him not creating a wave because I do think it exists maybe not prime Em but the Em of his later years I would say has influenced some of your atypical “lyrical miracle watch me rhyme multi-syllables” rappers.
But yeah I don’t think Ye nor Dot or MMLL ruined hip hop
“wE tAlKiNg BoUt ThE MaiNsTrEaM”
Nigga f*** the mainstream, streaming polluted the stream it’s done it’s over. It’s FINITO.
Either grow tf up or start listening to another genre.
There is always gonna be great music in the underground scene though, that doesn’t need to be pointed out
It’s more of a story that mainstream rap has been pretty much hanging on by a thread throughout the 2020s so far, the first time in the genre’s history that’s ever happened
kendrick is clearly influenced a lot more by wayne, andre and pac than eminem, even if he took inspiration from eminem he is not an offspring
also tyler was influenced more by subject matter and edginess than style, nicki might be the only true eminem offspring
sooo first of all... how is that a wave? and second, how are three of the greatest hip hop artists of the 21st century ruining hip hop?
GKMC was directly influenced by Eminem man, down to his flows and cadences, just stop this s***. Backseat Freestyle is an Eminem song lmao. actually, any time Kendrick is ever doing that “angry” voice, it’s cause of Em

Genre is done, then. Genres are only as strong as the mainstream. Everybody in the underground is great, in every genre lol

What box does Kendrick not check off?
kendrick is a stretch lol, not saying there is no inpiration but he doesn't even put that much emphasis on complex rhymes like that lmao... nicki I can see, kendrick is mostly influenced by wayne and andre
but for eminem as a whole he didn't really create a wave, he was too uniquely skilled and charismatic in what he did to influence hip-hop in a way that was easily replicable
yall niggas is insane
eminem is influential on every single rapper in the blog era tf are we talking about. from drake to dot to tyler

being cool
eminem is influential on every single rapper in the blog era tf are we talking about. from drake to dot to tyler
like Drake literally relied on a post-rehab Eminem to come through on a classic song
what the f*** are we doing right now

yea what I meant was more of a wave of actual offsprings who shaped the mainstream after him... he just wasn't that type of artist, he was way too unique and the circumstances in the early 2000s perfectly aligned for him to shine...
my argument was "but for eminem as a whole he didn't really create a wave, he was too uniquely skilled and charismatic in what he did to influence hip-hop in a way that was easily replicable"
that became obvious with artists like logic and hopsin who tried but completely flopped, em never created a lasting wave of "eminem 2.0s"

Huge timeless hits, huge popularity, huge influence, iconic rollouts. There is a reason he was seen as second to drake for a long time post Ye prime. He didn't have the hits/popularity to compete in that lane. Plus the sales were never massive until DAMN.

Biggest Kendrick hit was...BDKMV? Swimming Pools? Alright?
We not gonna rewrite history and act like Kendrick was out here making smash hit records left and right lol his strength was his albums being classic and his rap being elite. The rest has caught up these last few years. Don't think its debatable
