GodzillaMinusOneKendrick at no point has been anywhere close to Kanye in his prime, popularity wise. Plus his hit records are nowhere close to Kanye's hit records. But thats not a bad thing--Kanye's hits are in the top top tier. Only Pac, Dre and BIG can f*** with him in that category

You don't have to make the same music as your favorite artists. Sure you'd expect to hear some of their influence in the music. But it's not always guaranteed.
Again, Liking or appreciating an artist is different than saying “this person is my favorite and a huge influence”

Not gonna make a stance on who’s right or wrong here but everyone else is going off what’s logical and ideal while notbrock is going off how the human brain actually works. If I’m claiming someone is my all time favorite AND they’re an influence on me, I’m realistically gonna sound like them.
