at best you're getting new 3d mario and a gimmick party game from nintendo and then just graphical and performance updates for older games from xbox and playstation. they aren't saving some huge exclusives or blockbusters for their new consoles that are 15% more powerful or whatever. i don't believe midgen refreshes have ever coincided with the launch of major games cause the devs still have to prioritize the console with the largest market share which is the console people already own and the vast majority of people aren't upgrading right away

Actually no, we never got any word on a release window until they showed it off at the Microsoft event in 2022 and said “everything we’re showing is out within a year” so we hoped for 2023. Before that it was only speculation.
