2024 looks better than 2023 lol
name one game that’s dropping that’s as hype as totk or Bg3 lol
2024 looks mid compared to 2023 rn but that’ll change probably as more surprises are announced
2023 may have higher ups like bg3 or totk but 2024 will be as good
MGS 3 Remake
Like a Dragon 8
Silent Hill 2 Remake
FF 7 Part 2 Remake
Rise of Ronin
Black Myth Wukong
Assassins Creed Japan
Elden Ring DLC
Dragons Dogma
Stalker 2
Hellbalde 2
Avowed
Potentially:
Pragmata
Judas
Metroid Prime 4
Death Stranding 2
Gothic 1 Remake
New Dragon Age
its more likely that 2025 will be pretty grimm besides gta 6, cause nobody wanna come close to rockstars mega release
2023 may have higher ups like bg3 or totk but 2024 will be as good

This is a wishlist more than anything

it’s more likely that half the list you dreamed up actually drops in 2025

BG3 didn't have that hype in 2022. Weird to use it as an example. TotK is an outlier game, but sure. It's just 1 game, though lol
Q1 2024 looks way better than Q1 2023. Rebirth, Ronin, Yakuza, Tekken 8, P3R, Metaphor, Granblue, PoP, new Vanillaware game, Eiyuden, new Trails, Visions of Mana, Dawntrail prob DQ3R... List goes, this is just off the top of my head. S***, I'm prob getting more games in 2024 than 2023 myself. Idk how anyone can say this is mid compared to 2023
Avowed, Mario vs DK, Dragon's Dogma 2, a new f***in SaGa game GOD DAMN!! Elden Ring expansion, shiiiiitif you include China then Zenless Zone Zero gonna be bigger than TotK and BG3 combined.
Like you said more s*** will get announced, too.

You didn’t name a game that’s as hyped as totk or Bg3 or even Alan wake 2
Bg3 was OUT in 2022, in early access, and lots of people played it and loved it then, so kind of a weird counter-point to make
Your list has a bunch of remakes and ports and games that don’t have confirmed dates so you kinda proved my point
I think 2024 will could potentially be as good as 2023 or better, but right now in terms of confirmed release dates we don’t have anything on the level of totk or bg3 imo
I mean sure a game like dragons dogma 2 or rise of ronin COULD be a future classic and I’m excited to try them personally but they just don’t have the hype leading up to it

Dragon's Dogma 2 has more hype and will handily outsell Alan Wake 2, bruh. So will 7 Rebirth. So will a bunch of games on that list like Tekken. Alan Wake 2 was an online forum poster hit. Nobody cares about that game, sadly.
Nobody thought BG3 was going to be what it was in the mainstream. Niggas didn't even know Baldur's Gate was a thing until the reviews came in lol.
Dawntrail is like 50x bigger than a damn Alan Wake 2 lmfao.
My list only had 3 remakes on it. Nothing else there is a remaster/port/remake. We not gonna act like a large portion of 2023 wasn't remakes.
Idk how you turned this into a convo about hype though. I didn't mention hype in my original post. Streets not hyped for Visions of Mana but that's one of the craziest announcements in years if you be playing games fr Just like how Alan Wake 2 and Armored Core 6 were.

The thread is about hype/lack of hype for 2024 games? What other metric can you rate future games by? Are you saying you can judge the actual quality of games that aren’t out yet?
Alan wake 2 sweeped the game awards lmao, it’s mainstream, it’s not an online forum poster hit. You named granblue, p3r and metaphor but you’re gonna call aw2 an online forum hit?
Even Dragons dogma 2 is way more of an online forum hit than Alan wake 2. You are not a serious person.
I know normie girls who aren’t even gamers who know Alan wake. Dragons dogma 2 is niche as hell.
You’re basically making my argument for me if you think a remake of ff7 that’s been split into 3 purchases is on the hype level of totk or Alan wake 2 lol
A dlc to a 2021 game that doesn’t even have a trailer, release date or anything and you’re using it as a reason the year is gonna be hype, that’s basically just the end of the discussion right there

This thread is about how OP thinks 2024 looks poor for releases. I listed a ton of games coming out that all project to be quality.
Alan Wake 2, by the end of November sold <1mil. That isn't a mainstream title, man. Yes, it "swept The Game Awards," (except for the 1 award people actually give a f*** about. And it won 3 awards, what a sweep...). No, it is not mainstream. 7 Rebirth, Dragon's Dogma 2, and other titles I listed will handily outsell Alan Wake 2. Wanna make an avi bet? I'll do 10 weeks if I'm wrong and you do 3 days. Deal?
FF7R is a sequel, not a remake. I'm pretty sure you and I have had this discussion before so idk why you keep peddling this lol. FF7R did 3.5mil in a week. Alan Wake 2 didn't break 1 mil in a month. There isn't a world where you are seriously contesting me saying that FF7R is "more hype" than Alan Wake 2. You have to be trolling with this. FF7R has outsold Alan Wake 1+2 combined in 1/3 of the time. With Rebirth being open world it likely will even push beyond the first game's initial sales.
Don't even get me started on Tekken 8 and Dawntrail. P3R and Metaphor will outsell Alan Wake 2. Granblue might, too (prob not, though, idk how the mobile base will show up for it).
Dragon's Dogma 1 has sold more than Alan Wake 1 and 2 combined, man. What are we talking about here. These IPs are not in the same stratosphere. DD1 did 1.05mil in a month. As a brand new IP.
Elden Ring DLC was 1 thing in the list. And it would still handily be the 2nd most hype thing if it released in 2023 lol
Again, how can anyone look at the list of games we have confirmed releasing in 2024 and think that is a weak year befitting of the OP.

FF7 is being split into 3 games, remake and rebirth are the first two
It’s not a great year for gaming when the most hyped release is just a classic game being remade
Alan wake 2 is actually new content at least
1m sales for Alan wake 2 was back in November, like 4 weeks after release or something
The og Alan wake was an Xbox exclusive which is why it didn’t sell great most likely
Alan wake 2 didnt have physical copies and wasn’t on steam, of course the sales were bad, but epic covered the bill
My original comment was that the year is going to be hype once the real announcements come. It’s obvious that Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are waiting to announce their heavy hitters until they can show off their new hardware with it
I’m eating tbh.
UNIST
Granblue
Persona 3
Tekken 8
FFVII
Dragons Dogma
Mario vs Donkey Kong
Splatoon 3 DLC
Honestly though, Final Shape will keep me good for a month then Im quitting destiny
Hopefully avaowed is good
The reveal of Persona 6 and more info on gta 6 will carry me to 2025
re4 and totk and bg3 alone clear
More excited for Yakuza 8 and Rebirth than any of those games, won't hold you. They're all great though.
2023 may have higher ups like bg3 or totk but 2024 will be as good
