2000s Rock was easily better than 90s and 2010s imo

Imagine thinking 2000s rock is better than

    • Nirvana
    • Nine Inch Nails
    • Alice in Chains
    • Radiohead
    • Megadeth
    • Ministry
    • Neutral Milk Hotel
    • Cocteau Twins
    • Slowdive
    • My Bloody Valentine
    • Sonic Youth

the list goes on. y'all need to listen to more music and stop romanticizing your childhood. Linkin Park isn't touching any of those acts lol, and the best of 2000s rock was predominately made by bands that were established in the 80s and 90s

Literally the worst time to be alive with Hurricane Katrina, the War on Terror, and the housing crisis

Y'all literally just romanticizing your childhoods. People were really really hurting back then lol

    oldhead talk

Rock was in shambles after the year 2000. Nu Metal and Post-Grunge were some of the worst musical trends of all time lol

Peak Ye is 2010, peak Jay is 1996, peak OutKast is 96-98, Snoop was washed by the 2000s as was Cube

You got one with 50, Em, Usher, Luda, T.I., Wayne, and Jeezy. But 50 fell off by his sophomore album, Em fell off by 2004, Usher fell off by 2009, Luda fell off by 2009, T.I. fell off by 2009, Wayne was past his prime by 2009. Jeezy was still doing his thing though.

“Usher, Luda, TI, Wayne fell off by 09” ok lol that’s the end of the decade anyway. And you mentioned Travis, Schoolboy and Future in your op as examples of great music this decade cmon now lol no disrespect to them but they ain’t touching any of the 00s rap heavyweights. Peak Ye is CD-MBDTF, OutKast peaked commercially w SB/TLB.

And are you arguing rock was better in the 2010s than in the 00s?!?

Not to mention the amazing pop, dancehall, reggaeton & electronic music. Just admit you are wrong

Travis and Future are most definitely lapping a few of the artists you listed as "2000s heavyweights", T.I. being the easiest example

10s rock isn't better necessarily but why is rock the metric for good pop music? Moreover, rock itself was well past its prime by 2001 lol. It was dying in real time by that point

90s electronic is washing 2000s lol that decade gave us f***ing brostep

True the 2000s probably edges out, but outside of my nostalgia, neither decade has barely any timeless albums, like maybe 15 timeless albums all together

Production and the whole digital sound just not holding up

In rap maybe(although disagree). But rock, pop, r&b & latin music was thriving.

yah im convinced 90% of these posts are really more about the time period where the person was happiest & its easier to have nostalgia about music rather than admit their life/memories peaked

Like I get Radiohead and system of a down but I'm really struggling to think of super prominent and timeless rock from the 2000s

Fallout boy? Coldplay? Muse? ....avenged sevenfold?

Is he meaning post punk or metalcore?

Megadeth slander itt lol we've really seen it all

After 2000 rock got trapped in this revivalist loop only to be drowned out by nu metal, mall punk, and post-grunge lmao. A few acts as with any decade were still chugging along but rock was a caricature of itself by the mid 2000s lol
