“New research from music sales data company Luminate sheds new light on what actually happens to this vinyl after it’s been purchased.
In the company’s recent “Top Entertainment Trends for 2023” report, Luminate found that “50% of consumers who have bought vinyl in the past 12 months own a record player, compared to 15% among music listeners overall.”
Naturally, this also means that 50% of vinyl buyers… don’t own a record player.“
Rather someone without a record player buy a vinyl than someone only buying it to resell it
I don't, don't got the set up I'd like for one yet, but will get one once that's established
If I was a woman this would be a red flag for me
I will never love anyone more than I love Ye

Nigga ain’t got no type of pride 😂
at least game and movie collectors actually keep the devices needed for their stuff around should they decide to use it
i just think it’s a bit odd and wasteful to buy vinyls without any desire of buying a record player
i kinda get it bcuz physical media is so nice to appreciate, almost like buying a print or something, and you get to support the artist.
plus actually getting the best sound quality out of vinyl that it can provide takes a lot of tedium and research that most ppl don't hav the attention span for, especially when streaming exists.
but at the same time if u hav a collection how do u not want to spin it at least occasionally.
