i kinda get it bcuz physical media is so nice to appreciate, almost like buying a print or something, and you get to support the artist.
plus actually getting the best sound quality out of vinyl that it can provide takes a lot of tedium and research that most ppl don't hav the attention span for, especially when streaming exists.
but at the same time if u hav a collection how do u not want to spin it at least occasionally.
It also takes a few thousand dollars
That's cause 50% of the vinyls sold in the past 12 months were marked down Adele albums
It also takes a few thousand dollars
some of that s*** costs like $50 a piece it’s crazy
i’d rather artists just sell regular posters of their covers but they know people will pay 100s to put a small square on their wall
I wonder if they're just being pedantic with their definition of the word 'record player', because you might just own a turntable and run it through your own audio setup rather than have a whole record player that includes everything in itself.
Pretentious nerds that’s can’t just pay their Apple Music subscription and call it a day
Owning physical copies of ur favorite media is cool
I’d cop physical video games even though I could just download them because the art and packaging is cool
Caring about this is p****
I member I copped Rodeo vinyl and felt like a kid on Christmas looking at all the pictures and reading the tracklist and thank you letter
Threw dat bih in the corner of the room when I was done n that was that
at least game and movie collectors actually keep the devices needed for their stuff around should they decide to use it
i just think it’s a bit odd and wasteful to buy vinyls without any desire of buying a record player
rarely play my vinyls but do own a vinyl player and if need be I always cop two copies, one. to play one to keep wrapped
