You don't have to really add any counter melodies to a loop or sample if it's fire already. With drum midis you can still change some things tho. I do not understand why it's acceptable to use loops but not drum midis lmao. Man producers are weird.

I’m saying that if you’re using both a loop and drum midis and not manipulating either of them then it’s a problem

If you use an untouched sample loop and program the drums yourself that’s perfectly fine

If you use an untouched sample loop and an untouched drum midi, you literally did the least work on the beat

Barely anyone does the latter tho, so idk why we even discussing it lmao

You're wrong about that though. You got producers making 20,30,40,50 beats a day and you think they aren't just throwing on a loop and dragging in some drum midi and calling it a day? It's getting way more popular nowadays which is why being able to make a good beat doesn't mean much anymore.

Damn idk I feel like that’s just an assumption. You may be right though, but we haven’t seen any reputable producers do it, however we have seen reputable producers use melody loops
