Just started reading this series cause I need a page turner. God damn they really nailed that first season.

At what point does the series start getting really different from the books?

Midway through ASoS. Most of the portion of AFFC that i’ve read has deviated from the show. It’s like experiencing Westeros for the first time again.

Yea the first season is basically a identical adaptation of the book, the book just has extra lore

A Feast For Crows is when things become wayy different than the show.
There will be characters who act a lot different than in the show, and there are a lot of characters in the books who weren’t in the show at all

On god this was one of my fave fights of the series. Cant believe they left it out of the show. Whole sequence was at once horrific and exhilarating. Rest in piss rorge and biter

Brienne’s chapters being as good as they are is the biggest surprise of affc

I only have these books in paperback, and they aren’t in great shape because I copped them from a used book store . But I’m well overdue for buying a fresh hardcover set

I think imma wait to cop a hardcover box set though. If and when Winds gets a release date, I’m sure they’ll release a new box set of books 1-5
