  • So a bunch of other (because I am one as well) terminally online f***boys are going around trying to dunk on Everything Everywhere All At Once due to Dr. Strange having a big opening.

There is tons of activity on this beef, this was just a quick search. The algorithm was feeding me a bunch I didn't engage with so I can't find now. As you can see above one of the Everything stars took a humorous approach. But no so much by another Everything star...

So my question to you KTT2 is, if one of these studios were to disappear into thin air (no not a Thanos snap ) Which one would you rather keep? A24 or the MCU? I'm not talking about financial openings. I'm talking about their catalog as it stands today. I am talking about cinema longevity. Which of these studios pumps out films that you can replay 2 years later and get blown away?

i don’t even get why people would compare MCU to A24, they don’t make the same type of movies

No matter how much EEAAO makes, I feel like it’s not enough.

That movie is too f***ing good.

  • May 7, 2022

can you really compare the two tho? As far as i know A24 mostly distributes and not produces them.

Movie was ABSOLUTELY amazing and I feel it deserves more Oscar traction than BEST VFX or BEST CHOREAGRAPHY. The themes in that movie were some of the deepest I have felt inside of a movie theater

nothing makes me cringe as hard as people acting like A24 is its own genre. There are a ton of weird movies out there, just look for them.

You should know A24 is primarily a distribution company, they have varying levels of production involvement and financing in films with their logo, some they pick up as finished products

  • Yo if you feel the need for to defend marvel movies on the internet like the tweets in the op you have a persecution fetish

I can understand that. There is a bit of nuance here. I used reductive reasoning to take an idea and make it a thread. But I feel as a studio they do a good job at finding up and coming directors. Dudes that aren't popped into the mainstream, and giving them a platform.

Yeah they were very important in getting Aster and Eggers off the ground so I'll always credit them for that

When you go down the list of things it potentially deserves Oscars for, it’s essentially everything. If it doesn’t get nominated for Best Film, the SHRED of respect I have for them will completely evaporate.
