Only film company I worship is Janus Films

So I mentioned being a film casual.... wow that company appears to be absolute legend. I really wish I was born into money so I could sit around and watch media all day. There are a million movies I haven't seen

Thank you for giving me something else to look into. Oh s***, they did Parasite? God tier film. Another statement I wanted to shoehorn into this thread, is A24 took what was a Focus Features type of vibe and blasted the f*** off with it. IMO

    Has @op heard of criterion

As far as like The Criterion Collection or whatever. But not super versed in what it actually means. I assumed it was like classic status or something similar. Also I try and go back and watch classics when I get a chance. Recently watched Lynch's Eraserhead and s***. Have been trying to get around to Dr. Strangelove and also tried 2001 but was tripping on mushrooms too hard to get out of the 1st 15 minutes

this is so dumb. It’s okay to enjoy both and want both to do well

The irony of stan twitter championing this is hilarious too

this beef means nothing when you remember Zendaya is the main character in Euphoria and one of the mains in the Spider-Man series

  • sabbaroni

i don’t even get why people would compare MCU to A24, they don’t make the same type of movies

    insanity for sure

For 2001 u gotta time the shrooms to kick in during
U got the right idea though, film being in criterion usually means it's worth checking

After me making a thread like this, this may seem a bit weird, but I am an MCU enjoyer. I did Infinity War, Endgame, Spiderman 3 opening night. I was just kinda mad my timeline was blasting this s***. I know KTT has a film community so I thought it would be worth pointing out that this was happening.

I'll probably hit a Strange matinee tomorrow. Glad to hear its good. I didn't really see a way they could miss on this film.

Haven’t seen Strange or EEAAO. Comparison is dumb tho Marvel is limited to comic book movies they’re not a full fledged movie studio

Just last week I saw a group in Marvel character cosplay beating a man for wearing A24 related merch, so @op might be on to something here.

So a bunch of other (because I am one as well) terminally online f***boys are going around trying to dunk on Everything Everywhere All At Once due to Dr. Strange having a big opening.

    https://twitter.com/ERCboxoffice/status/1522596623246782464https://twitter.com/ERCboxoffice/status/1522659853356863488https://twitter.com/dunkwun/status/1522730992540151811https://twitter.com/102432Randy/status/1522894538263732224

There is tons of activity on this beef, this was just a quick search. The algorithm was feeding me a bunch I didn't engage with so I can't find now. As you can see above one of the Everything stars took a humorous approach. But no so much by another Everything star...

So my question to you KTT2 is, if one of these studios were to disappear into thin air (no not a Thanos snap ) Which one would you rather keep? A24 or the MCU? I'm not talking about financial openings. I'm talking about their catalog as it stands today. I am talking about cinema longevity. Which of these studios pumps out films that you can replay 2 years later and get blown away?

I’m keeping A24 if i had to pick but this thread and rivalry is f***ing cringe

The idea that someone would bash the weird indie movie to prop up a Marvel movie that’s gonna make billions of dollars is disgusting to me tbh.
