    Would be unbiased

Not necessarily. It would depend on who made it in the first place. Just like drones in general are a good idea but when put into a militarized police forces hands it can be used for bad

excuse my ignorance, but is it true police were created to dominate minorities? i heard about this happening during the civil rights movement. i was never taught this in school so this really is kinda crazy to me (but also not really)

the purpose of police nowadays is certainly to protect property and capital which as we know is predominately held by wealthy people.

    How would you fix it?

    How would you fix it?

Stop throwing outrageous Sums of cash at police departments

Prosecute cops who murder or assault unarmed citizens

    Fire cops who perform unsatisfactory

    Cops take implicit bias classes

    Decriminalize all d****

Yearly review of policing to ensure chiefs who allow poor practices are fired

Get rid of quotas and civil forfeiture

Ik it sounds too hypothetical but you think ai could be better/worse than cops right now?

much worse. at least a few cops show remorse for humans. the ai wouldn't care about right vs wrong at all. there's also so many situations the ai wouldn't be able to handle like human beings can.

andjke another person said, they could be used for bad depending on who makes them

There should still be some form of law enforcement but robbery’s should drop a lot if police funding was reallocated to community resources

Education and training should be #1 priority

How do you expect someone who barely passed HS to be a police officer and memorize basically the same amount of laws and guidelines a lawyer is supposed to

This makes no sense! Some entry level accounting jobs damn near require an MBA, but I don't need any degrees to make split-second, life-or-death decisions??

  • Jun 5, 2020

So you guys want a street justice country? Let’s see how long that free for all lasts.

ad they're supposed to know the law as well as lawyers but get less than 10% the amount of time of studying and training. make it make sense

Bro I grew up in the hood, niggas are real life addicted to selling d****. Like they legitimately know it's all on the line and they can't help themselves.

Police shouldn't be walking around with Military grade gear

I don't. I've had plenty friends of friends arrested in highschool for the same thing. It is what it is, but it would drop. More money for the community means less struggle in general. A lot of the kids I knew only ended up like like that because they didn't grow up with much and saw it around them. You don't have many middle class kids hitting licks. And like I said, law enforcement would still exist in some capacity

Work on reducing crimes by attending the main causes. THEN we can talk about abolishing police or whatever.

  • Jun 5, 2020

Im sorry but if yall do that its gonna be chaos in the streets and I will be participating in it

  • As long as there is a disparity in wealth, police will always flock to vulnerable communities and treat them worse.

I think the D*** War in the 80s is what gave birth to modern racism in the police force. It made it about Police vs Black/Hispanic people ever since. Younger officers joining the force have seen the culture created by that and it's attracted more racists and violent people to join police forces. It's also misguided others to think that's what policing is about. Even after the d*** war ended, the culture created by it doesn't go away. Police will racially identify, rough up, and focus on arresting more than protecting.

Before that, people who became police were interested in serving their communities and had a lot more trust. The Wire a show written by former police reporters and officers out of Baltimore in the 80s explains it well.
