Whenever I see a tweet like this I never see any reasoning or explanation given as to why a sexyy red album is inherently worse than a clipse album and cannot possibly be rated higher for any reason (or whichever artists are being compared)
Sexyy red hate is EXTREMELY, extremely weird, especially with the amount of rappers running around ‘living their life on tape’ and having all these fans that s*** on sexyy red in the same breath
No it’s both
It’s a***ysis and interpretation, grounded in historical and cultural context
To understand Coltrane you need to understand his progression from hard bop, modal jazz, etc. That isn’t an opinion it’s music history. Ignoring this context, and what shaped the sound we now call Coltrane is poor criticism
Good criticism blends objective musical knowledge (form, lineage, social context) with subjective response. It’s journalism with an interpretive lens, not just a reaction
I haven’t read this review

No you don’t, thats literally whitewashing and intellectualization and even f***ing Miles Davis was speaking out entirely against it. FIVE people liked this?
He and all the other pitchfork dweebs will never be stopped if yall keep making threads about them and giving them the attention they want.
Bet that burger ass nigga is laughing at this thread as we speak saying "yup I did it again"
‘Jazz isn’t about what’s being played it’s about what’s not being played’ whoosh flew right over some of y’all heads
I mean I disagree and think he's a bit goofy but in the age of homogeneous music criticism where everything is a 8 (cucktano aside) it's cool that pitchfork are still providing the shambles from time to time
Im surprised people still dont know that pitchfork scores are an average from multiple people's scores and not the actual reviewer
Alphone pierrr is an attention seeking hack yes but he’s not the one making the scores and he just hates pharell
Im surprised people still dont know that pitchfork scores are an average from multiple people's scores and not the actual reviewer
he still picked a score around there and still wrote the snarky review

Well no one doing rap music reviews does this.
Im surprised people still dont know that pitchfork scores are an average from multiple people's scores and not the actual reviewer
Yeah, but his actual reviews are also terrible. He hates every mainstream male rapper.
I've stopped taking pitchfork seriously a long time ago. How is literally everything either a 6 or 7?
He eats Subway like me!
https://twitter.com/Southside_Gunn/status/1943565141699641769why he look so sad
His playlist stuff is always filled with “oh you don’t know about this” type s***. We know those people in real life. they’re annoying lol. But I think that’s how his brain is wired. But not a surprising review and who cares. He’s alright for certain things.
