But yeah that’s Umakoshi’s signature
Kind of like how Yoshinori Kanada has Kanada Dragons or Light Flares
or Yutaka Nakamura has Yutapon Cubes
or Kenichi Kutsuna who started the whole Kutsuna Lightning tened
Post gifs for each please
I was looking for a show that would stir my emotions and someone recommended AnoHana.
I am admittedly sensitive af, but during the whole show I was never even close to being moved. Something about its sadness felt kinda forced I guess.
Idk what to add to the Anohana discourse it did make me emotional at the time (18 years old) but it did feel emotionally manipulative especially with the characters acting so dramatic.
What I mostly enjoyed about it is the idea of an old friend group drifting apart and then getting back together and all of the conflict and difference they would have now. It’s cool to make an anime about this idk.
I had a lot of people put this and Your lie in April over Clannad. I might have crazy Clannad bias but it never felt over dramatic to me.
Just finished Ranking of Kings
First 10-11? episodes were really fast paced and setup a lot stuff! Fantastic execution
Everything after that feels very bottle like and while good I wish the settings would change up once in awhile
Latter half of the season is great
Lots to love here, if I had one gripe maybe too much crying? and the healing stuff feels like an easy out. Other than that really liked it
Post gifs for each please

Interestingly, "Your Lie in April" didn't make me shed any tears either. But it was still a fantastic show, full of touching moments and an absolutely amazing soundtrack.
As for Clannad, even with me anticipating the show to be sad, the emotional impact still took me by surprise. Something about the atmosphere and the way the narrative and characters are written. It's crazy because the soundtrack alone is enough to elicit a response from me.

I don't think it's that easy to make me cry but it happened in Clannad and it happened in A Silent Voice.
just finished the first deluxe edition of
berserk last night.. mann what a f***ing manga. have deluxe volumes 2&3 so gonna hop back in this week
Mappa rented out an 8,000 capacity stadium for two days for a CSM event. The CSM Blu-rays that have the event tickets in em only sold 1.7k during first week.
Bocchi committee rented out a 900 capacity hall for 1 day for a Bocchi event. The Bocchi Blu-rays that have event tickets in em sold 17k first week.
Funny how life works.
Buying anime Blu-rays is an L in itself
I was thinking about buying the nana blu ray
Watching after a long day in the office
Just watched it. Cute side characters episode
speaking of blurays, Gunbuster OVA, Re: Cutie Honey, Kodocha and Iria Zeiram the Animation are dropping this year
Not trying to defend the CSM anime because i knew it was going to be underwhelming before it even aired, so i didn't even watch it but Shonen anime usually doesn't sell that well when it comes blu rays. 1700 is still a very low number even for Shonen standards and Bocchi's success is well deserved as well
Why is Haikyu making me emotional
This s*** is amazing
I've been even more emotional about haikyuu ever since I saw they're trying to squeeze 100+ chapters into 2 movies for a finale
The director pissing off the Japanese audience didn't do them any favors at all lmao
