I honestly don't even know..
I'm good at Marketing, I've consistently got up on 80% in exams but it just feels like a shady practice to me.
I hate marketing as a practice but I'm good at the subject.
I find management interesting, I don't necessarily think I'd make a good manager, but the subject again, is alright.
So you haven't declared your major yet?
Couldn't be me
I'm not spending tens of thousands of dollars to study something I hate
And if I didn't have a clue what I was interested in, I wouldn't enroll to find out. But that's just me
Lots of kids getting pressured into college now. You may as well major in something you’re interested in, because bachelors degrees are getting oversaturated anyways and it’s not really the key to an instant job anymore (was it ever?)
Going to school to be a doctor, lawyer, etc. is a pretty good bet but everything else is a toss up
I don’t get why people constantly go into college not sure or in fear about what to do. Unless you going for like a lawyer. Doctor. Accountant. Anything medical. Criminal. Or trade then you don’t need to be in the s***
No guidance or mentors, certainly true for my case. We weren’t taught how to critically think about these decisions, we just followed the crowd. Anyone who did something else was demonised
Adulthood for me is just getting rid of the preconceived notions that were taught by community
I studied economics it was alright but I would do it again, lowkey don’t want to work in this field. S*** is just extreme networking and connections

Totally agree. Luckily me growing up on the internet and watching YouTubers/blog era/indie artists showed me that the college route or 9-5 route wasn’t the only way to maneuver after HS. Even though I was 12-13 at the time I still knew it was a plan for people who didn’t want to follow the code. Everyone in our location (small city in VA) gets demonised or looked down upon if you don’t go to college or serve the county lol. More schools need to teach kids the importance of networking and showing them that it’s possible to monetize your life with your own passion instead of being forced to make a huge investment at 18 (barely an adult) that predicts the rest of your life basically

Amazing post. I wasn’t taught how to network and I’m now paying for the consequences of it, s*** is essential. Having foresight is an amazing skill too, which isn’t stressed enough.
Im thinking about going to college for the first time still unsure though. Deciding either photography or music production
Ya same this s*** is ass idk why I'm doing it but it's too late to pull out
I kinda feel this
If you want to make great money AND have good work life balance right out of college, do computer science. Every other major sucks unless you're genuinely interested in learning / passionate about it.
With all due respect thought CS is so much more harder than I feel you're putting it, I feel just from taking an intro class unless you really dedicate time to it, that s*** is hard to push (coming from someone d***ing around trying to get something I deemed easy & lucrative).
I'll admit though I should've been known myself ain't s*** worthwhile 'easy'

This is facts. From 18-23 been moving on a fear mentality the one thing I was actually interested in (Psychology) wouldn't lead a good life.
Barely just now summoning the courage to try it out. Feel like that's all we can do...try.
i graduated with a 2.0 by playing league of legends everyday instead of studying
i then emailed the CEO and i got the job
now i manage there 6 figures a month funding process
