3 vinyl LPs, insane
But yeah, DONDA has incredible moments, but it's super long and kind of a mess. That's before you get into Kanye's divisive character itself. I'm surprised the album has streamed so much. Didn't expect that.

RIP_ActavisThe album is far too long though, the oversaturation of material on it make's it a cumbersome experience at times
JIK & Ye were too brief for sure, but Donda is the stark opposite, it is very maximalist when a 16-20 tracklist would have represented a better middle-ground
the album is 23 tracks with 2 interludes basically

theholytrinityEven beyond the poor reviews, many people on Reddit and Twitter seem to be calling it mid, dragged on, or too many filler tracks. I think this album was pretty amazing, with God Breathed the only actual song (Tell The Vision is a damn interlude idc) I didn’t really rock with (although the production was dope).
After years of short ass Kanye albums with short ass songs, how long this album is was such a breath of fresh air to me. I’d much rather this than him cutting amazing tracks like he often tends to do (imagine this album without Believe What I say or Come to Life). The album has slow Kanye, banger Kanye, and lyrical Kanye all with soulful beats, amazing production, and GODLY features. I really don’t understand how other people aren’t hearing how amazing this. Do we think this is just another grower like Pablo and Yeezus?
ive been on here for the full ride my friend, and im pretty bummed by the album. no conspiracy, its just not hitting with a lot of us

my beef is that TLOP to me is his white album. this one is just a mess. LP2 would have been great. what we got is a bummer to me (and if you like it, please enjoy it and ignire us who were bummed)

Honestly, I still don't have a firm opinion on it myself.Have one on me by Joanna Newsom comes to my mind. 124 minutes long (none too long imo. Top 3 last decade).

There are def a few songs that feel unnecessary and could've been cut, but they aren't bad by any means and that's maybe 3 songs on a 23 song album. There's a ton of sonic and thematic density to shift through and the album is longer than average so I think a lot of people balk at it and skim through it once. But this is a deep project, needs a few listens and actual thought to start putting together what makes it so special.
It'll grow on many, like TLOP has over the years. When an album is this good, the circumstances of its release fade over time and all that remains is the quality.
